Spread sheets

Never really had call to use one till now, had always managed to avoid it..

What i need to do is have colums C x D all the way down the page more or less, and the answer to sprout up in E

Can manage it for one row (left to right)

=c1*d1

but doing it in a big lump i can't work out :/

+ how to total a column?

Getting there but can anyone off some basic spreadsheety tips? (useing open office btw)

If you want totals of Col. C in Column E, you need:

=SUM(C1:C100) in Cell E1

Basically means add up all date in rows 1 to 100.

That should be enough to get you started.

Sorry, was on the wrong track.

If you click the answer in E1, you can drag it down using the handle in the bottom right corner of the selected cell.

Basicly what i want to be able to do is put in the length and width and for it to automaticly give the answer in the area colum, but the whole length down.. (not haveing toput the c1*d1 in each box :/) if that makes sense..

Write the formula in the top box (eg. C1). and the bottom right of the box is a small square, when you hover across it you will see.

Click the square
and drag it
Down



Until you are far enough down...

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh i see now

Blimeh, simple isn't it..

Tis one of them things i've just never done on a pc is useing a spread sheet, silly really, it shold save a bit of hassle though (theres only 6 on the example but there could be somehting like 200 odd on future ones, the current one goes up to 32..)
