just thought that folks should know that i'm deaf now due to wearing this new purchase.

this lid looks great and for the functionality it seemed like a great buy, does anyone else have this helmet?

after using a caberg V2 i wanted to have a flip face, seeing that the trip was cheaper than the justissimo i went for that option Rolling Eyes

Here comes the gripes

1. when you close the visor you cant hear the engine but when you exceed 30mph the wind whips in through the back and swirls around your ears.

2. your peripheral vision at the lower ends of your view is obscured by the shape of the front, hence you can't see too well out of the corners of your eyes.

I await a "don't buy cheap lids then" comment but i thought that caberg may have made a product equal to the V2 for less money, stupid i know.

compared to the V2 it is a world apart and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how good they find the justissimo.
BTW, whats the deal with the wind tunnel testing on the justissimo as advertised? is it for aerodynamics or inner wind proofing?

oh yeah does anyone want to buy a matt black caberg trip helmet, only been used for 2 days Wink

Almost bought one Saturday. I dropped my helmet and broke the visor and hinge. Thought I had repaired it OK, but was being whipped to death by it when one side came off at 85mph on the A31. I was waiting until the NEC to buy a new lid, but this bought forward the purchase. I found a Carberg dealer in Bournemouth (The Gear Box, friendly peeps). Having tried them on in other shops I decided I didn't need (nor want the additional expense of) the flip front, so bought a V2. Dunno where the idea that they are heavy/noisy came from - made my previous one feel like a brass diving helmet.

no chance with a helmet, as its a safety item they wont take it back, they dont know if its been dropped or anything.

this is the problem with internet buying and thinking that brand loyalty will pay off, Crying or Very sad
is there a gear review page on this site?, cos if not maybe it's worth a try,
i buy all my gear through the net and 9 times out of ten it's fine but sometimes it ain't what i'm looking for,

it's all very well trawling though the net pages looking for reviews but you cant always get the info that you want.

at least with an online system like this you could ask questions in the hope of getting the answers that you need.

i think that the V2 is a great helmet and this is why i will go with caberg again, i think the trick is to get the expensive ones as opposed to the "cheap one off ride helmet" that is as uncomfortable as f@#k and noisy as s#!t.

any ways, what's the coo on the justissimo? anyone got one?

I had 3 cheap lids before I bought a Shoei, thinking I was saving money.

Your not, the quality, noise, fit, vents all make it worth while, plus if you look hard you can find the odd new shoei for about £150.

I love my Justissimo, although it can be noisy. No problem with obscured vision.

I crash-tested it last year. It performed so well I bought another one!

I ahve a Brutus, the visor scratched beyond use recently so i had to use my back up old Nitro.
Made me realise how bloody noisy the Brutus is and how poor it is in general, not very fitting around the ears and cheeks but tight everywere else.
A poor show really Sad

Erm use ear plugs? , that said I've always thought the £85 trip looked a bit flimsy compared to the Jussimo it doesn't have gold ACU either.

that said you should use earplugs on any trips +30MPH , repeated exposure to er loudness makes you deaf , those orange thingies from max lite are great and form a nice seal such that you can't hear shit.

thought i'd bite the bullet and buy a shoei syncrotec 2,
in a word WOW!!,

from someone who has used a caberg V2 for 18 months and been quite happy with it i am now officially converted.

it hugs every part of your head and feels great to wear,

no wind noise at thirty (starts to rumble abit at 50) but you can still hear your ambient noises well enough not to feel too isolated.

the flip front goes up like a dream, it doesnt wrench the helmet around your head like the caberg trip did.

the pinlock system is an interesting invention (double glazed visor no condensation is the theory), it seems to work but then i took it off cause it was throwing my peripheral view off slightly, probably wear it when it gets to winter though.

what more can i say......... it's the nuts and i think it was well worth it.

Best of all though, THE PRICE!!!
https://www.bikingdirect.com/firstpage.htm
that's where i got it from and it cost about £205 including delivery.

i cant recommend this lid enough for all serious daily users. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I very nearly bought one of these caberg trips today and the only thing that put me off a bit was the seat belt straps.

Has anyone bought one since last post ,and if so what your verdict..

GOOD.............BAD

I also read the wind noise is a big problem as well

I had one - for half an hour. That's how long it took for the flip mechanism to break. I've wasted too much money on cheap helmets, went for an arai and haven't looked back.

I got a Justissimo for Christmas. I haven't got chance to actually use it yet (bike is laid up Sad), but first impressions aren't good at all. If I was picking helmets myself (I told my parents not to buy me a helmet but that's another story) I wouldn't have even considered it after picking it up and looking at it. The plastic seems to squeak and flex as you're holding it in your hands, less so with the flip-front down, but still enough to alarm me.

My previous (or it might stay my current) KBC helmet wasn't a flip-front but it's a solid old thing and I trust it. I also have a cheap flip-front that I bought when I was 16 and even this feels better built than the Justissimo. I'm not inclined to trust this helmet much at all, maybe I might change my mind once I get to try it out. If you're gonna choose a flip-front for your next lid, I'd say consider forking out a bit more and look at the Shoei Multitec.

Same here, had a cheap flip front (AGV longway) but soon realised there was no distance between chin and front of helmet and in an off I'd shatter my jaw.

I eventually went with a full-face Schuberth R1 because of the general fit and distance to jaw.

I've had a Justissimo for over two years now. Used everyday for commuting and hasn't broken yet - the mechanism seems pretty robust.
It is louder than my previous Shark but I wear earplugs unless just crossing town. The anti-mist visor coating is not brilliant (actually it is rubbish in winter), but the flip down sun visor is fantastic - especially in winter with a low sun and particularly because I wear glasses when riding.

Schuberth

They are expensive.
However, at the right time of year they sell off old models that can be quite reasonable.

FWIW the BMW lids are rebadged Schuberths.
