Looks like you are going to have some fun there. Apart from the lime green colour (hey at least it's the right colour for a kawasaki Razz ) the frame looks to be in pretty good condition - not to much rust at the welds etc.

Use lemon juice and vinegar on the engine casings. Removes that furr and fuzz in seconds!

For banjo bolts on brake lines, fasteners etc use a wire brush to remove any rust. Then apply and work in some graphited grease (castol call it moly grease) with a toothbrush and they will look like new.

For the paintwork a good wash then T-cut. Don't forget to apply polish afterwards though as T-cut strips any protection off.

The rest such as downpipes etc are just going to require elbow work - best book off a whole weekend Wink

Christ... Shocked A bacon Fryer... Thumbs Up

Haven't seen one of them for YEARS.

Biggest problem I can remember is the piston rings on the middle cylinder. They have a habit of eating them.

Oh the memories. Very Happy

Because they smoke like you wouldn't believe, and crackle like someone cooking bacon (2 stroke triple). Wink

They were one of the 250's to have back in the late 70's and early 80's.

Retro Cool. Thumbs Up

Thanks all and ta extreme for the cleaning advise. I'll try that method for sure.

Yep, had one when I was a kid briefly along with a Suzuki GT250. Both great bikes.

That one you posted up Pte is a KH B3, a few years younger (1980 I think) I have as far as I know two choices in colour on mine (KH B1) and thats candy sky blue or candy super red...I like both but maybe the red.

https://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l297/RitzBitz127/image_1505.jpg

If I can get it to look half as good as that I'll be happy Smile

Bacon fryer is kewl Thumbs Up ......never heard that one. The H2 750 triple I read was nicknamed "the widow maker" as it was as fast as fook but handled crap and had no breaks Shocked , not that I would kick one out of bed if one turned up. Now thats starting to sound freaky!

The pic of the KH was just one I found of no particular Mk, just for illustration really. I bow to your keen eye. Thumbs Up

Ah! The KH750... Hmmm, and the KH500.

Do you (anybody) remember the Suzi GT750?

Was a Two Stroke Triple too, but Water Cooled. They used to known as "Kettles", because they had a habit of Boiling Over. Very Happy

Excellent place to start if you want to get into the world of Classic British bikes.

Either as complete working bikes or restoration projects.

You can STILL get BSA spares for all of the models very easily indeed.

Draganfly motorcycles in Bungay, just up the road from me, are said to be one of the worlds largest stockists of BSA and Ariel spares.

Yip Pte I do (well I would at my age Razz )

That Suzuki blue is very close to the kwak KH blue so you'll have some idea of difficulty in choice coz the blue is bleedin nice too.

Suzuki triples looked nice at the back too because of the dummy exhaust making it look like a 4pot

Would love a 380 Thumbs Up

Daddy m8, try these for the odd classic bike and some dont sound too bad either.

https://gmtv.adtrader.co.uk/grouphome.php?group_id=8634&trader_id=8618

Mine came off ebay @ 127 quid so I was well pleased. It is a real nail, seized engine too but I'm getting along with that just great. I recon I can get the engine up and running for 150 quid and thats nice and tight run-in jobby.

All in all quite a few hundred quid to restore but noooo way could I afford to pay that all in one lump. A few quid a month and for me it is a great learning curve and if all goes right you can say to yourself......"I done that" Thumbs Up

I really enjoyed taking my FZR apart and putting it back together again, the smile when it was off the stands and back on 2 wheels is amazing, as you said, the knowledge that you did it makes all the £'s and hours of effort worthwhile.

Back from the powdercoaterers guys. Thank fook that green has gone!

https://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l297/RitzBitz127/KH250004copy.jpg

Been picking up a few bargain parts on ebay too although I can honestly say I got more chance of sprouting a fanny than getting a front mudguard Thumbs Down

Engine is totally in bits because I had to swap the crank....
Still having fun though Very Happy

I'm sure powdercoaterers aint a word

Ahh the old KH250, my first ever road bike and I still love the look of it
though they do have a habit of holing the middle piston if you run then hard
for a long time on a hot day, I did it twice in 3 months with mine

My Dad's got a silver 380 tucked away in the back of his garage, I always wanted to get it running as I've fond memories of my first terrifying pillion experience as a kid! Laughing
