 |
|
Well, since im off to uni and cant live without bacon/eggs/milk ive decided to look at getting a mini fridge as i might have a load of cunts in my flat that nick my food so want to keep it in my room, just to be safe!!
I reacon i need about 10litres to get everything in. However, i cant seem to be finding what i want at a reasonable price.
I also, seen lots of "Food coolers/warmers" which seem to look like what i want but is this a fridge that can be unpluged or a cool box that plugs in?? Also, will it be cold enough to store bacon, eggs and maybe a bit of meat??
Example Here
This also seem like what i want and more is a fridge than the 1st one. However, its really girly!!
Example Here
So, can anyone find me something better than these??
Also, would the first cooler be good enough?? ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

Yeah wouldn't keep a mini fridge if you got a small room either. They give off some heat if you buy an el cheapo and I think there was even a fire incident when I was at uni....
If you don't want stuff to be nicked and you dont mind looking like a total tight arse, get a lock box.....
Our communal fridge would basically get raided every night, so I noticed this girl started using a metal lock box to keep things in...
I personally stopped using the firdge all toghether but was thinking of making a chocolate laxative cake and leaving it there..... ____________________ current bike: GSX-R 750 K6 stolen, found the next day in a van in Durham, returned to me 3 months later costing me my NCB and my excess...

was at uni in Newcastle so a monster full english stotty (half a football sized bap filled with 4 bits of bacon, two sausages two eggs and baked beans if you wanted) only cost what 2 odd quid? which was pretty good VFM back in the day...
If I wanted to keep anything cool-ish, I would just hang it out the window in a plastic bag, things like milk and eggs would be fine.... ____________________ current bike: GSX-R 750 K6 stolen, found the next day in a van in Durham, returned to me 3 months later costing me my NCB and my excess...

I have one of these -ish-
I used to stick a shit load of beers in the top part, take out the extra shelf bit to fit in a 4 pinter standing up, and fill the rest with meat, fresh pasta cheese etc. Never had a problem. Need to watch for ventilation behind the thing, and fuck me is it loud. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

Hi,
After you have wasted 99.8% of you cash on beer 0.1% on uni essentials the 0.1% will only allow you tesco value baked beans so a fridge wont be a problem
Charlotte
PS Wait until you get there and see how things go. I would advise not to buy things like kettles, toasters etc as when Keith sister went they has 5 toasters, 5 kettles 3 steamers and so on. ____________________ Help fight the safety camera partnerships -- www.pepipoo.com |

Having been to look at the Idle Son's Uni halls yesterday (HOW many spiders in thet room!! Had to go back with Himself last night so he could remove them before we started to move stuff in..... ) he is in the same position. 12 flats to each "house", with communal tooilet/showers on the ground floor and communal kitchen on the 3rd (top) floor. Couple of fridges in the kitchen which he will be using but we are also looking to get him his own to keep in his room.
This one is favourite at the moment. https://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/29_332062.html I have one at work and it's great, can fit loads of stuff in (including a small amount of frozen or ice cube trays) and it is a normal fridge with temp control so stuff keeps normal time.
Big enough to keep his bacon, eggs and beer in, which is all he really needs, and will fit quite neatly into the space at the end of his bed (and possibly act as a tv stand too!)
He's got his own cutlery & crockery too which he intends keeping in his room. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

As said, don't waste your money, or be a recluse.
Not like you're going to have uber expensive stuff in a fridge.
Also, you're going to be living with people. Most will become your friends, some you will share food with. You're just end up eating each other's "daily" food and replacing it the next day and sharing basics.
Get as many food friends as you can, cook for them and build up as many "IOUs" so when you're tight you can eat their food.
Managed two weeks at uni without cooking an evening meal, just chatted up a differnt girl each day..... ____________________ "because one stroke isnt enough and four strokes waste two" |
