its perfect consition apart from rubber things in the front suspension (half hour job to change), new windscreen because it used to have a dodgy windscreen wiper and its scratched it.

other than that its immaculate.

want to buy black alloys, few tarty engine bits. but keep all the origional things so i can sell it on as standard.

...Why?! is a peugeot 106! spend your money on something more worthy, or just keep it in the bank.

these were taken before i spent 4 hours cleaning it Laughing

took it to the bmf today, its alot quicker than i thought they were.

im guessing 0-60 in about 7/8 seconds?

get it up to about 5/6k revs and its flying. sounds deep too.

not going out of my way to get into the next issue of maxpower, im just concentrating on worthwhile bits. clean engine, decent wheels/suspension and stuff.

Thats what I thought too cagiva geezer.

My sis had the GTI, in black. I loved it. Got to about 70,000 miles though and fell to pieces. It had been meticulously maintained and everything, real shame as I wanted to buy it off her.

Luckily palmer I just think that one was an unlucky car. Just keep an eye on your oil levels, radiator, bushes and bearings and things should be ok. Silvers a good colour too!!

£1900 doesnt seem to bad a price if its in as good cond as you say it is!

Whats the insurance like though Confused

You wont get that performance out a 1.4 quicksilver. GTI yes but not the car you quoted.

The figures for that are 0-60 12.8sec / 75bhp / top speed 109 mph.

Having said that for your first car it is a very clean good looking car.

Dont loose the hunger for the bikes though.

Nice one, I've driven a mate, slightly modded though, they're nice little motors, look decent with a set of 15's on, and lowered, a bit bland standard though. 75bhp is ok, about right for a bog standard 1.4 I suppose, even though my 1.4 is 103bhp. For 1900 I'd say thats a good buy, as my mate paid something stupid like 3000 for his. Its a bloody good first car though, look after it!

Not a bad first car, they're insurance group 5 though and also in the same insurance bracket are pug 1.6's ( the 8 valver's) 1.9 diesels ( and some of the older turbo diesels aswell...).

I'd still take a vw Golf diesel probably if i had to have a car ( although saying that my car's a pug 306... Sad )

I like them, but you pay through the roof because it says "quiksilver" on the side and you get plastic arches. They hold their value very well for a >5 year old car.

If you want black alloys go for TSW black ice ones, or https://www.potn.co.uk/ have some nice looking rims in their clearance bit. I'm getting a set of O.Z. 15"s off them soon.

Also aren't they torsion bar on the rear which makes lowering a bit of a headache? I'm not 100% on that though.

Did my mates one through the twisties in my swift the other day, gotta love independent rear suspension Razz

Whatever, live rear axle for the win.

7-8 seconds is a tad optimistic, maybe off a cliff. Nice car though.
