Right then. Picture the scene, I've just left work and I'm buzzing along quite happily. Then I notice something a little odd. I'm accelerating slowly yet my tacho is jumping wildly - going a few k rpm up then settling down then up agin etc...
Although slightly perturbed, after I've made a mental note to sort it later I think nothing more of it and carry on my merry way home.
Then the bike seems to splutter and jump. A feeling accross between running out of petrol and when my front sprocket decided to turn itself to a racing slick a while back. Odd. Very odd. So I nurse it back home noticing that its only really misbehaving while accelerating @ higher revs.
So, I check the tacho cable - dammit - electronic tacho so it doesn't have one. I check the plug for the misfire - looks ok ish. Although it's brown on one side and oily on the other. And its been leaking a bit. So, I presume, it was a little loose. No biggie.
So I clean said plug and refit and take her for a spin. Booger.
The misfire/splutter got a bit worse....
It's decided to do it while holding steady @ around 6k. Erk...

So, is it: a)Buggered CDI?
b)Buggered coil
or c)A Bonfire?

get a new plug first and see, make sure the oil feed isn't obstructed. my 50 acted a bit like that when it was blowing up.

Well, it seems like it may just be the coil. Measured restistance is around .6 ohm, it should be 0.1 to 0.3 ohm.
So, I'll get a coil tomorrow and then when it still doesn't work see what else I can try...
