Motorway Riding

Right i am used to going on the Motorway with my 125, but only for a couple of Junctions, making the trip down to Stockport later on this evening I know its only 20 miles from Trafford Centre.

Bike goes up to a Indicated 80 mph at 9,000 rpm in 6th.

Am i best off sticking in the Lorry lane or will i get killed

Shouldn't have a problem, me and barwick went 50miles down the motorway @50 (electrical problems) and just stuck to the inner lanes and there was no problems, just stick with a speed your happy with, tbh even if it will do 90 it'll be bloody uncomfortable on a 125, not to mention murdering the engine..
Personally i stick in the slower lanes anyway, never been interested in going fast in a straight line, just hard work.

I'm too much of a coward to go on one.

I've never ridden on a motorway. Only ever drove on one with an instructor when I did my pass plus, bloody hated it.

Contrary to popular belief there the safest roads to be on, the danger is dicknecks in sales rep mobiles in the fast lane, but you have plenty of opertunity to be away from them..

Personally i dont tend to use them in the day, because i dont need to for work or anything, if i need to cover allot of distance i use them at night, no traffic and you can make allot of progress, petrol and nibbles freely available, and no cueing for anything

middle lane will be fine.

all the road hogs sit in the outside lane anyway regardless of wether or not the other lanes are moving faster than them.

it's a primal pent up rage they have that makes them do this.

Oki hopefully wont encounter any dickheads then, i find that big lorries are/have to be alot more aware than these " I drive a BMW im superior than you" type people.

So i'll just take it nice and steady, shouldnt take me too long cover 19 miles on the motorway, just get on after Barton bridge on the m60, there is no way im putting a cbr 125 up that it'll die!

Wont be busy really at 9 tonight should it?

You stay in the left lane, unless overtaking, simple.

Once you have overtaken, move back to the left lane.

There are no Slow Medium or Fast lanes, its 70 in all 3.

The middle and outside lanes are 'overtaking lanes'.

No such thing as a lorry lane.

burnouts outside the church and then stopping the traffic in warrington whilst following the hearse and then more burnouts and noise later on at the funeral directors request.

i hope i dont but if i do then if i could have 30 bikes ride up/down to macclesfield and take over the roads then i would be most gratefull .

You have been on a duel carriage way yeah???

Motorway is basically the same, but with certain vehicle restricted from using it.

Treat it as a duel carriageway with slip roads

Yeah, but only dual carrigeway ive been on is St Peters way in Bolton (A666) and it has a 50 mph limit on it.

I wont get killed sat at 65/70 mph that the speed i feel most comfortable at. Because its too windy.

Just stick to the 'slow' lane and you'll be fine.

I tend to stay in the middle/slow lane at about 60-70 the majority of the time, only if I come up behind someone really pootling that I over take. Stick to about 60 in the slow lane and you should have no problems.
