got a little problem with the front brakes on my GSXR 600 K4. when i use the front brake at low speeds i get a bit of vibration, sometimes it can be quite severe. i replaced the discsw and pads a while back so i know it isn't them. i was hoping someone else could think of something. i'm going to change the brake fluid over the weekend.
i was thinking it might be the hoses that are getting a little soft and expanding when i use them, but it only happens at low speeds like under 20mph.

any ideas?

***edit*** currently i have Sintered HH pads and Braking wavey discs

its vibration through the bars or though the lever?

headset bearings normally causes that else check for play in the front wheel bearings and in the forks/triplecrown. Also check the caliper bolts are tight (would be obvious if they were but only takes a second to check)

Though I'd have thougt it would get worse with speed; check your wheel bearings.

it comes through the bars, in fact the whole front end of the bike vibrates

Normally you can tell worn wheel bearing as you can feel the bike drifting side to side. You dont need to be braking to feel it either. Id say its headset bearings. You tend to notice they are going when your braking with just the front brake as the front judders. You feel it over bumps/potholes too cos the whole front end shakes. Smile

Hi

If through the bars then that suggests an issue with the front suspension / steering.

Front wheel bearings, steering head bearings, fork bushes, deformed tyre, etc.

Could even be from having the front suspension badly set up (believe way too stiff can cause this problem).

All the best

Keith

You may not feel the movement until you lift the front of the bike, when it then becomes obvious. It still sounds like head bearings.
either use a paddock stand and put a jack under the engine or get a mate to pull her over on the side stand if you dont have the paddock stand. I am sure you wil then feel play by pulling at ythe bottem of the fork legs.
