Hard lines mate, I'm constantly prepared for my bike being gone being a enduro. Impressed with the cops. Hope you or they find it.

Yeah so do i. Dont think itll feel the same again if they do find it, The only plus was that the female cop that took a statement was hot.

Just a question now. I rang MCE as their my broker and they took the details of the incident but said NIG wont let them log it and i would have to ring them but the office doesnt open til monday morning. I got the chance of a zx6r off my dad as he doesnt use it. Would i have to let them know about the claim if i done the insurance today as i havent yet notified NIG but have notified MCE who are my brokers.
Im thinking i would but is their any way around it or no??

Cheers
Scott

Nightmare.
Literally - as I do sometimes have a bad dream about leaving the bike somewhere and not being able to find it when I get back, slowly realising it must've been nicked...

Scott...
Really sorry to hear about that dude!

Where in the Newport area?
Around what time?
If you can give me some more details I'll happily get all of my mates (and I have a lot of them) to ask a few questions and keep their eyes and ears open!

I'm of Ystrad Mynach way so will watch out round here too... Got pic?

Insurance is not looking good on zx6r at the mo at least £999 with cia.

Details of the bike are

CBR125 Reg WX55 XVC
Orange rim tape and repsol grip sleeves.
Quite a scratched exhaust from my off a weeks ago and a cracked right hand belly pan panel by the break lever.

Was taken from the carpark of Lyne road Mcdonalds at about 12.05 am last night.

And Heres a picture or two but without the rim tape.

Cheers Loz.. if you could do that i would be hugely grateful although im not holding out too much hope of getting it back. Probably in the river usk now.

already checked that and theres no cctv in the car park. Just see what the insurance says on monday morning and go from there i think. Should be pretty straight forward though.

Just out of curiosity if i claim and they do find the bike i can buy it off the insurance company can't i. Just because my brothers is looking for a cheap bike and if there isnt a lot of damage if its found he can buy it cos im going for a bigger bike now.

Update. Bikes been recovered from the mud banks of the river. Superficial damage (2 indicators and break lever.) Robbing bastards at recovery want £241 so might go through insurance as thats only 250 just depends on how much my premium will go up. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I`d say avoid going through insurance as you might loose your NCB.

Didnt you chain the bike or put a disc lock on it?
Newport is will known of bike thefts, hence I avoid parking my bike up anywhere there, but at minimum you should find somewhere to chain it up to, any ole lamp postwill do.

Hi

I would say avoid insurance if you can. A claim will load your policy for a few years.

All the best

I just done two quotes and their is hardly any difference between them with and without a claim about £100 so see what happens. Also where i parked it was 5 minutes when i popped into get my brother from mcdos to pick him up in a well lit area in view of the door it was just some scummy opurtunist newport prick.

Apparently according to the staff there was a drunk boy causing trouble just before i got there and he is prime suspect at the moment. The police have a description and there is blood on the tank so there may be someone caught but we'll see what happens.

Gotta be fair the police were class. They were stop checking vans all over Newport so big up to them. Gotta go and make another statement tomoro so will let you know how it goes.

Cheers
Scott

True point Kickstart.

Ill see what happens on Monday morning because NIG isnt open until then (apparently bikes don't get stolen on the weekend.).

Forgot to say also in the compound was a stripped down R6 and a yam trail bike with a huge lock still attached to the front wheel both recovered this weekend as well. Guess where im not ever riding to and leaving my bike again.

By the way, are you fully comp or tpft?

And that recovery amount sounds a bit high for recovery and a couple of hours storage. From memory it is a specified amount nationally set.

All the best

Hi

Mmm, not sure. Found this:-

https://www.herts.police.uk/FOI/operational_support_policies/FP50213%20-%20THE%20VEHICLE%20RECOVERY%20SCHEME1.pdf

Which says that the fees are set at £105 + £12 a day storage. However not sure that applies to stolen vehicles.

Not sure exactly what tpft will actually cover you for, now the vehicle has been recovered.

All the best

Keith
