Okay, i'm in the market for an NC30, and this has caught my eye...

https://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e172/in-orbit/P1010511.jpg

https://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e172/in-orbit/P1010508.jpg
It has:
33,000 KM on the clocks
Upgraded forks from newer NC30
New plugs
New oil/filter
Newly powdercoated bits, yokes, fairing stay, clock and headlight brackets
New chain and sprockets
Nearly new tyres with plenty left in em…
New battery
Braided hoses with new pads
12 months MOT (as of last week)
12 months tax (I’ll put it on this week)
De-restricted
Motrax KPH/MPH speedo converter
Just had the carbs stripped and cleaned
The bad points are:
The clutch is slipping
It has a low speed spill, so there is some body damage (As you can see, not that noticeable in those pictures)
I've been offered it for £1000
It's 130 miles away from me so i need to pa to have it transported as well.
I like it and I can live with the body damage until I can afford to have it repaired. Does it look like a good deal? ____________________ 1st: June 6th 2006 - Nov 6th 2006: 2001 Aprilia RS125 |2nd: Nov 12th 2006 - Present: 1991 Honda CBR400RR

I'd go for it!
Clutch slip will just be a case of new clutch plates, slightly annoying because you've just had an oil change, so will need changed again. (Unless you can re use the oil?)
Plates are around 50 quid. |

considering it's the VFR, he's probably gunna be quite lucky to get it lower than that.
if the bloke can prove he's had all that work "just" done, then it's a bang up price.
i'd wanna see the reciept for the carb work, and the mileage it was done at. same goes for the oil, plugs and filters. ____________________ Sahf East Winnah 4LYF

If the oil change has just been done and the clutch is slliping some bright spark may have filled it with fully synth car oil, which will often stuff the clutch (or make a worn one worse) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Does it come with sunglasses? You'll need to factor in extra cost for those. On the plus side you'll never lose it in a car park.
90s paint jobs eh?
But for a grand seems a bit steep for this time of year. When the snow comes down so will the price as well, so if I was buying a bike I'd wait a lilttle longer. Hard with cash burning hole in your pocket, but how much riding will you get out of it if you buy it now anyway? Month, tops, before it's tucked away for 2-3 months?
Offer him £800, at worst he can only say no, and leave him your number in case he gets a change of mind. He might meet you in the middle.
Hmmm... in that case offer him £750 |

thing is tho them NC30s + NC35s go for a premium much like 125s ,
sort of like NR750s or RC30s , on parts alone they are not that big a deal anymore , a new fire blade will out perform and out ride both the NR and the RC for a fraction of the price , but its the kudos they bring of ownership.
an NC30 today isn't much to write home about 60BHP (barely more than my rusted NTV) , 172kilos (more than a blade) , has great handling (but not as good as this animal of an ZX10R I wangled off a dealer for a hour). but is often desired.
Problem is stuff goes for what people'll pay for it and I've been watching ebay for months on NC30 prices and they regularly go for £1300+, and if 100 other buggers are willing to pay over the odds for it , then the prices go up to reflect this. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
