When 'like' is used as a filler word.

e.g. Most commonly heard in the city post office uttered by open-mouthed, gum-chewing teenage mothers collecting their child benefit allowance.

"I, like, hit him, like, over the head, like, with, like, a baseball bat"

At work 'Buzzword Bingo' has become a favourite pastime in needlessly long meetings ticking off overly complex unnecessary words.

Thereby incriminating the entire native population of Essex as being 'Fick' Laughing

A colloquialism I find annoying in Wolverhampton and the Black Country is the inability to just say bye and hang up the phone. Instead we get strings of "t'ra, t'ra, t'ra".

agreed Thumbs Up

and i never realised you were from wolverhampton, thought i was the only one

the main thing that annoys me on this forum is probably 'repost'

the most over used word in the world in chav though, everyone is a chav these days

edit : i also frown upon the use of the 'c' word

'out there' as used by Americans:

"Well, we went out there and we did what we do well!"

or

"I don't know what you think you were doing out there but..."

or

"We put our lives on the line out there every day!"

OUT WHERE?

Also:

'Turned around and said'

"He turned around to me and said that I should..."

GRRRR

I also dislike the word actually, but I use it a lot so can't get too stressed, because I hardly notice when I use it.

Repost.

It probebly is aswell lol . There have been loads of threads on annoying words, accents, places where we live.

you cant escape the universal words, Like, innit, safe, and numerous other words when used wrong makes you want to Beach slap them into next week.

i think the buisness buzz words are used way to often and Acronyms really do get right on my nerves, over use of these anyway, half of them are only there to make those cocks in suits feel supirior to use working class.
