my zxr 250 tickover
It's pretty similar to 18priller doing his vid of his bike ticking over.
I've been around campus and quite recently, i've had people come up to me saying that my bike sounds evil. What's that wierd noise coming out of the engine that sounds like the clutch rattling, can anybody advise me on what it is? ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

My 750 used to rattle when cold.
I thought it might sound a little stronger than that, but nice little bike  ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

if its like my bros old zxr250 then it not the tickover thats evil (17-18 redline isnt it? )
they sound like a bigger bike on tickover though, so may just be people think it sounds bigger than it is....i think people expect a 250 to sound lame or weak, maybe sound like a 2 stroke they dont realise much about engine configurations, etc... making the noise |

It's on a DIG one piece can. I need to get the setup changed to be honest with you and possibly jetted to suit it. My main concern is that it's as loud as any 600, 750 inline 4 and i really feel i piss off my neighbours when i come back at night . I've not found a baffle for it yet. Also, i took off the fairings to get them prepped for paint and rode around with just the bikini cone on and it sounded even more silly. Because the airbox is fed from the hoover tubes AS WELL as a vent on the LHS fairing, which funnels into a 50mm aperture in the side of the airbox, it was left exposed. I scare 19-25 year olds at uni when i wail past
So it may be a good thing revving up to 18k, but you'll soon realise that other more important / social issues need addressing. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

to be honest i wouldnt worry about noise, my SV was pritty loud but just knocked it into a 4th+ so wasnt loud late at night.
I actully prefected this method of (only when the road was empty) turning the engine off 30m from my house and knock it into neutral and slowly cruise to front of my house, my parents said they never heard my coming and when i did it with the engine off they defernetly heard me.
Then again i really like loud bikes, i think you should leave it like is, cant cover up or dumb down that lovely sound!! ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |
