It’s a strange one, because when you get older you understand more about the person you have called a ‘hero’ for so long.
Like you I idolised Bruce Lee when I was younger, I practiced martial arts, but I feel he brought so much more to the world than just breaking heads.
Now I feel like he was a great man who should be remembered but I don’t really idolise him.
I’d say my old man is my hero, a man who in his younger years was up against so much.
Working as a general builder after finishing school, he accomplished a great many projects, worth several million pounds.
He did this for his family, at the time, just leaving his teens, he bought a house, got married and had 3 children.
He has now renovated and built his current home, a Victorian hospital building, which he plan to sell once complete and move abroad. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

David Attenborough.
He looks very frail though.
Please don't die Dave. ____________________ Fly away on my Zephyr?

This isn't really a 'hero' thing as such, but its along the same lines.
Everybody likes Star Wars. But also, everyone likes different characters.
When I was young and I was first introduced to the George Lucas classic, my favourite character was Luke Skywalker.
In my teens this progressed to be Han Solo. I quite liked the Antihero idea, but hadn't fully grasped the concept.
Later on when I was doing my A-levels and at uni I preferred Boba Fett.
Nowadays I think the Emperor is the best character in it. I don't think I ever really thought that Obi Wan or Darth Vader were that much fun.
This either says something about taste as you get older, or it illustrates my descent into the dark side of the force.
Probably some psychologist will now come along and tell me I'm insane!
Or it might just mean I want to be able to fire lightning out of my fingertips!! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
