 |
|
My bike is this colour:
https://www.trenkamp.org/gs500/susi-frontright.jpg
And I hate it.
Would it be a bad idea to change the colour? I might be able to get hold of some different coloured plastics for it and a fuel tank, but will it lose shitloads off of the resale value? I really do hate the colour but decided not to be picky and bought the bike...
Just wondering whether it's worth the hassle/expense of changing the colour as I'm not prepared to do a rattlecan job.
Cheers,
T |

or you could just remove the front fairing, buy a twin headlight and bar mirrors and SF it
you may not notice the colour then |

Kawasaki green seriously though, silver or black are probably the best options for that style of bike
Did you buy that fairing from method? Looks good. ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |

Different coloured plastics shouldn't detract from the value if it's original colours you're replacing it with.
Personally I'd get some already damaged fairings and add...

Lazy way of changing the colour of your bike: Do nothing other than use it
Within a couple of weeks it'll have a healthy protective layer of dirt built up on it.
For the amount of cost & hassle involved, rather than buying different colour fairings and tank I'd reckon selling it and getting a bike that you do like is a better answer.
But ermmmm, ride it more, rather than worrying about what colour it is. |

spray it, i looked into having mine done got a quote of 80 quid for the lot, although this was by my friends, fathers, work pal.
but i decided against it as i like the colour of my bike and i dont have 80 quid to spare, and it says honda cup on it which makes it go faster ____________________ Current .. 2008 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure ..

with winter coming, if you ride your bike, you don't know you won't bin it, so i would keep it as it is for now, find some cheap plastics and/or quotes for paint job, then see how well you are suited to the task before spring comes and you really want to whizz off into da sunset. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. You ride a GS500 , there are at least 10 breakers nearby Liverpool where you can get plastics all in
for <£100 , for my NTV I can get as new tank undinged , new rear and side panels for less than £60 ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
