Im downloading a BF2 patch at the moment, And the download rate is 134kb/sec. Why is this. Im supposed to be on a 4mb line. So why the slow d/l rate?

i bought a new graphics card a couple of days ago, Worked well etc. Nothing wrong with it.

Picture quality was better, Smoother etc. All good.

Today I restarted my Comp, And got a popup window saying my NVDIA needs updating *Click here to download the latest driver*.

So I did.

And now its exactly the same as it was, But the icons on the desktop and the qucik launch look like that of a Win95 spec computer.

Any ideas, Ive messed with the display settings, been into the desktop display, Its all set to Highest colour etc (32 bit).

Its bugging me. Laughing

/edit, attached a picture.
The quality on both moniters is fine, Internet pages, Photos etc. Its just the Icons which look pre-historic.

Check resolution and if you really don't like it roll back the driver.

Ben

It also depends on what the server load is etc.. e.g. if the server's busy it won't be able to upload at your lines full downstream rate.

as well as server load, you are probably on a 'up to 4mb' not actually on 4mb. Your line may only support 1mb for example

Oh right, gotcha.

I remember about 2 months ago, I was running on a 2mb line, And I chose to upgrade it for an extra £4 a month or somthing. To get a 4mb line + PCGuard Pro package.

It did seem quicker like.

Would it be worth upgrading again for another £4 month to this so called 8mb line?
