 |

Hi all
I have been contacted by alex_t's dad, and have been given details regarding the family wishes.
Flowers/wreaths are welcome, or alternately, donations to either the Reptile Trust, or the WWF.
I have setup a Paypal donation site at :
https://www.tainted.myby.co.uk/atf/
...where you can donate £5 or £10. By all means comment if you would prefer a BCF wreath, or a donation to one of the above charities, vote in the attached poll.
If you don't want to use PayPal - send your donation to falcon @ gothtech.co.uk - (remove spaces) with a comment about how your vote.
For information, the funeral will take place next Friday (8th December), at 11:00am - setting off from the family home. All who wish to attend have been invited.
However, for privacy reasons, I won't place the family address on here - so if you'd like to attend, PM me and I'll reply with it.
ADMINS : Please DONT move this thread into a regional forum, as people from outside BCF will be trying to get to it ____________________ Sans bike |

This is a thank you all for you kind thoughts and words. Alex's mom and i are very touched by you all.. The truth is we, has yet, do not know what happened, but it was not a heart attack as such, although his heart had stopped. The doctors, paramedics and police, have assured us that he died instantly.. We wont know for about 6 to 9 months, when all reports are in..
I must give Mr-pete, a very big thank you, from us both for what he's done.. He was still a baby, but 21 years old., a waste, just doesn't come close. We are, has you all understand, heart-broken. But we are blessed with a strong, close family, he leaves behind a partner, Rachel, Three brothers, a sister who has her mothers strengh, with out which we would not have coped. Alex, for his sins, inhereted my bad looks, but he had his mothers soul and heart.. i will, from time to time come back to this site, to make sure you are all safe.. And i agree, now riding with angles, is apt. thank you all again, and please, please be safe.... Tony&Sue ( Mom&Dad ) |

So sorry to hear about your son, I only spoke to Alex on msn but he was a great lad... i'm sure you are very proud of him. I will always wish i could have made a ride out with Alex, but will think of him when we're out there. Myself and JP (distortion) will be there on Friday, on the bike if thats ok?
andrea
Mr_pete, JP/distortion has made a paypal payment on behalf of both of us as i dont use paypal. I think the wreath would be a lovely idea |

I have also contributed, i think a wreath would be nice from all of us. But again, i dont mind if going to a charity.
Its such a cruel cruel world we live in, i can see you are a very stong willed person, and may god give you all the strenght to get through this terrible time.
I wish you all the best in the donations, and thinking of you all.
RIP.

I voted for a wreath but any of the options could have got my vote, a donation is a very small price to pay to show one of our fellow bikers that they will not be forgotton.
Tony & Sue you have my upmost respect to come on here and post in such terrible times.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Hello I am Alex's girlfriend.
Thank you all very much for the kind words, for the votes and raising money.I think thats so kind. I want to tell you a bit more about Alex though.
He wasnt a biker, he loved photography but his main passion was animals and conservation. He loved nature, wanted to help the fight against global warming and save animals. He was a supporter of the WWF. He used to do sponsored walks to raise money. He was such a kind, wonderful person, I miss him more than words can say. I will always love him with all my heart. And it will be so hard for me (and everyone, especially his family) to say goodbye to him on friday. I dont want to sound ungrateful but I feel physically sick when I see a motorbike now. I know you will have an arguement against that but please dont express it, I cant take it. I just wanted to tell you all who I am and express my personal wishes. If you would all like a wreath, please dont send a wreath with 'alex, now riding with wings' it will break my heart.
I dont want to upset anyone, but Alex taught me to say what I think. He was so bold and strong, it inspired me so much. I dont want to turn up on friday, see that wreath and break down.
Please dont take any offense, but please take my wishes into account. We werent married, but we would have been one day.

Rachel you are breaking my heart. We are good people. You knew him. In no way do we want to hurt you. WWF it is, in my opinion.
I am so so sorry (we do not have the words). Massive virtual hugs.
If you dont want bikes at the funeral but still want people to attend is there a pub car park or somewhere bikes can be left?
Do not worry about upsetting us, I can only imagine your pain. The last thing we want to do is make it worse.
If bikes are forbidden then maybe a memorial ride in the summer?
All the Best |

I only met alex once, but he really was a special kind of guy.
It was a few months ago and I cant remember much about what he said, but he entertained a few of us for a few minutes telling us about something. He was sort of captivating telling us about the little man he had made out of solder or something about his boss or something.
Its not often a guy you have just met makes you have a real belly laugh, but he did and I cant remember what he said, but I knew he was a great guy and that any time he was at Bassetts it would be good to see him.
Its a shame I wont see him again.
He was very likeable so I expect all the people who know him like him a lot.
He did seem the kind of guy who would prefer donations to be used for something useful rather than on a wreath and if his girlfriend would hate it, i really dont think there should be one.
I also think that anyone thinking of going to the funeral should keep motorbikes well out of sight too.
this is a pic of him from 'you and your bike' thread

Hi Rachel.
No-one could possibly take offence. Some of us would like to be there, and will be if you'll let us. And bike's don't have to be a part of it if you don't want. The main thing is for those of us who met him, or had spoken to him, to at least show our respects.
No-one here wants to upset you or his family any further than you already must be.
Be safe. ____________________ Sans bike |
