Time for a new or second hand bike.

Eye Kandy Bike Exotica or maybe I can be sensible and buy a second hand but well rated Daytona 675 or a YZF 750SP.

I have a buyer for my firestorm, my Dad darn sarf as it happens, he's running a R1150R and wants a second bike 4fun, suspose the VTR will be fun compared to his lardy underpowered Bemmer. lol. He likes to keep things in the family - also means I have a bike to use when I go visit Mr. Green

So.

I have a budget of between £5-6K cash and I thought I could buy now-ish while dealers/private sellers are willing to drop prices a bit.

I want something special. Supersports orientated. Probably Italian.

Something to enjoy when the sun is out, to pose on, to simply be cool, something that handles like a knife through butter, something that makes peoples eyes stand proud, something that makes grown men go weak at the knees and biker chicks cream their leathers Laughing I want to live the dream Very Happy

As mentioned all over the forum, I had thought about getting a K6/K7 Gixxer.

I just dont know. I could keep my savings and just use the cash from the firestorm, about £2.8K and buy a worthy second hand bike.

Help me decide.

You could go for a K6/7 like everyone else out there, or, you could buy my bike and own a very rare piece of hologomation machinery, that only very few people have (1 of 182 sold in the UK).

Thumbs Up

F4 750. Drool.

Tornado Tre. Park it in the living room, put tinsel on it, the ultimate Xmas tree. https://www.thomas-eckl.de/bilder/Tre_small.jpg
Iconic cup. nuff said. https://www.mad-ducati.com/Gallery/cvaughan/G134/BMW%203.jpg
1 of 150 made SACHS B-805 LTD EDITION 805cc. Funky but is it shite? well it weighs a bit more than the storm but has half the horses, so probably. Looks nice tho in a odd sort of way.

Only joking, personally, although they are common I would go for a new Gixxser but in the Red/White/Black scheme which is stunning. Or you could get your own paintjob like this fella, which looks immaculate

I'd get the daytona, but the new 675, not the inferior 650 you're considering Razz

Believe the posted one was a 650? Smile.

Anyway, staying on the GSXR theme; considered something like a Crescent Suzuki bike? They do theirs in a variety of states of tune/price and there are a few around second hand as they're quite big.

Get one with decent suspension and get it setup for you and you may find you've got a lot better than a stock italian bike could do.

Go French instead:

28,000 Euros

A little over the budget, but exotica to say the least.

Hi

Comes down to what makes you feel good. Sure a Gixer might be quicker, but how often are you actually going to care?

Think you might be pushing it to find a nice MV in your budget. Almost certainly around, but I suspect that you will land up looking at a lot of overpriced dross.

Benelli is easy to get in your price range new with a warrenty. Strangely 2nd hand ones are not much cheaper (possibly due to their hideous price when launched of about £11k).

Also consider a Bimota SB6R.

All the best

Keith

If I was you then I would go for the MV Agusta F4! Its an amazing bike. Easier to get parts for it compared to the benelli.

Just noticed you did mention the 675; of the bikes listed, I think this is the one I would go for.

While I found it a little bland compared to some of the slightly sharper sports 600, it is a very good bike. For road use the fairly wide and plain range of power along with neutral handling means you aren't going to be caught out and don't have to be too precise with gear choice; as you don't with a bigger cc bike.

However, of course that's from a utilarian view point. I'm sure I'd get more looks turning up at a bike meet on the Beneli - though they'd probably be just wondering why one of the fans is going the wrong way Razz. However, I reckon I'd have a bigger smile on the trumpet.

Saying all that, I've been riding my new toy about a bit the last couple of days (looks like this but with tartier headlights) and it definitely gets a lot of attention; partly due to the colour, but probably mostly due to the noise. Oh and maybe because the wheels seem to have some kinda anti-gravity device built in Razz.
As it's a fairly rare make, I've seen it listed under 'exotics'. A lot of maintenance though, not great for distance and I'm still not sure I'm a big fan of the whole supermoto thing - I got it for enduro stuff as it came with muddy wheels as well Smile.

Oh, G, I must say, very nice indeed. I would say something from Vertamati for ultimate exotic mudslinging.

I would like to add, I've sat on and played with one of those Sachs B-805s and they are truely breathtaking in the flesh. They are like a time warp, running from huge discs and usd forks on the front, with an insectoid nose fairing and lcd display, through the old cruiser v-twin motor, to the twin rear shocks and drum brake at the back. They only made 570 something I believe, and 3cross garage had 3 of them in for around 4k brand new. It is my dream tart bike.

I've been looking at Husky 610 sms, Duke 2 and the CCM R30.

I'm starting to believe I'll have more fun up to the tonne on a supermoto.
