I have a new carb on my nsr 125 and the mixer screw was all the way out wanted to no if anyone knows the position it should be in dont no if its over fueling or to lean wont start up any help would be great , started fine before that cant check the old one as i dont have it anymore

If it's too rough after that, the universal is one and a half from full. Other than that just fiddle with it within reason and see which posithion makes your bike run the smoothest and fastest at tickover.

you dont want it running the fastest!

Get it somewhere your happy it idles well i.e not too fast or to low or it will cut

We're talking about the air screw, not the idle screw. You set the air screw to give the fastest tickover without touching the idle screw, then tweak the idle screw to set the final ACTUAL tickover RPM.

So, get it idling at a comfy rpm. Turn the airscrew all the way in, then start winding it out, listening to the engine as you go. Revs should increase slightly as you wind it... when revs reach their highest, and start to drop again, turn it back slightly so that they're AT their highest and leave it there. Now use the IDLE screw to set the actual RPM to that as stated in the manual, which I THINK is around 1400rpm for that bike.
