If your carbs ect arnt set up propperly with the can/pipe it will run very rich, loosing performance.
You cant just throw a can on a bike and expect it to go faster.. most of the times youl get away with it, but with somthing like that, that contains near no baffles you may get some seriose problems.

In the case of the GSXR all he needs to do is install a Power Commander to remap the fuel injection.

i know but no to the point of it being slower and most people know that an exhaust an remapping the fueling goes hand in hand

overall that exhaust system will make the bike go faster than the standard system ever would

But, if im honest, i wouldnt care as it sounds the bollocks, and were are you really gona be arsed that your bike now does 150 instead of 160 on a road bike.

(or watever speed yours does.)

sure the coppers would love it too Thumbs Up

Tbh I'd be interested to see what Sickpup is talking about here as he does seem to know his stuff pretty damn well, the only thing I can think of is the shape of the can may bugger up the backpressure or something?

Hi

There is a whole lot more to exhaust design than just how noisy it is. The lengths of the various sections and how they join together is far more important than the can at the back. Change those lengths and you stand a good chance of moving the revs at which the exhaust works best. Bugger all use if by doing so you move the exhausts peak power point to 20000rpm (which it is never going to reach) while sticking a massive flat spot at half peak power of 10000rpm, screwing up everything else.

Tuning a bike by sticking a loud exhaust on is like tuning your PC by connecting it to a 500V power supply.

All the best

Keith

no i didnt get a chance to get a sound clip up.

2 days after tuning the bike on a dyno a twat rear ended me at about 30mph and totalled my bike. Just recently got written off.

Luckily it was the left side which went down, so my growler survived.
