Never ridden the 04 but have ridden the 06.

Very smooth and ridiculosly powerful engine, sweet ass handling and generally an awesome bike.

I'd write something more, but it's 12 in the afternoon and i've got the mother of all hangovers after going to bed at 8 this morning Thumbs Up

Watch out for white finger, there seems to be a vibration problem with various ZX10R's that causes numbness between 3000 - 4500 rpm. I'm sure an owner can clarify this more but it was something that put me off risking buying one when I looked last month. Search around for threads with the titles "Bad Vibration" on some owners forums and I'm sure you'll find out more. Kawasaki seem to think that it's not a problem and call it a characteristic, as yet they haven't officially acknowledged there's a problem.

the far nicer 04/05 model didnt have a steering damper as standard
my mate has one, tis a great looking bike with an engine pretty much the macth of the gsxr1000k6(besides down low)
the handling is interesting until u get used to it, i drove it before the damper and it just goes a bit bananas on some roads, with the damper its 100 times better
the only other litre bike i wud like to own Thumbs Up

Mad engine and a flightly beast, suspension is harsh, but the only litre bike from those years I'd want! The 06 version calmed the engine down a bit(heavier crank), fitted a steering damper and gave it more aerodynamic (read ugly) bodywork.

The 06 version is a lot more civilised. The ones before that are built more for the madmen amongst us.

There's an article in January's issue of Superbike magazine which compares the old zx-10 with the new one.

Highly recommended if you're looking to get one!

Whichever one you get, enjoy it mate.

Thought about a ZX12R? A lot more easier to handle, with more power, and regardless of what the magazines say its no fuckin tourer.

Im looking to get rid of mine, and it can be yours for £2750
