Top fule drag racer riders often do it. So some may think it cool to do it. ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250

I actually quite like the feeling of one foot skating on the ground! I guess it's not that good for the soles of my boots though but kinda tickles! ____________________ Love is 1050cc |

the ped riders annoy me, seen plenty of those "only ride a ped cos of congestion charge" business suit wankers in london, who dangle their legs permanently either side
i pray for ages that they might catch a bit of ground and get their foot ripped into the workings of the back wheel
those who do it on real bikes just look stupid i let it piss me off , i do it the few times ive been drag racing without realising, because i was too busy thinking about everything else, then you get round to it and its like "oooh, foot is still dangling, whoops" riding on the roads i tend to try things like putting my foot down as little as possible, trying to balance perfectly at red lights etc, lifting your foot up for the longest time possible before moving off... before you fall over
so dont really understand people who do the opposite, call me a weirdo ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

An R6 should have taken around 2 seconds to get to 40, not too long to pick your foot up .
A lot of the time people stick their foot out because it gives them an (often false) sense of confidence when the bike feels a bit odd. However I suspect most of the time leaving it down actually does make the bike handle worse, so they possibly keep it hanging out for even longer, believing they are helping to prevent their badly-handling bike doing anything worse.
I'm not sure if the scooter style 'foot out' would actually work the same way a motocross or supermoto foot out would in the case of a low side. |

Did make me laugh coming home tonight, see a ped boi sitting on the pillion part of the seat with his (or maybe her ) feet tucked almost under their ass.
Why would a step through ped have rear sets and, a better question why would they have pillion pegs?
Who are they trying to kid ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

| Quote: | motocross style is more foot and leg forward tho i think
while my covering the ground while cornering a bit fast for the conditions, is more like leg out 45 degrees from the other leg, with lower leg hanging down vertically from the knee, foot hovering over the floor |
Yes
| Quote: | if the back of the scooter slips, the foot hits the floor and you correct the slide without having to think about it, you lift the foot up a bit, and slightly reduce the lean or throttle or both
|
A lot of slides are corrected anyway 'without thinking about it', regardless of foot position. Personally, I wouldn't be too convinced that it would solve that much and suspect doing so is more likely to cause slides that correct them.
| Quote: | also, riding with both feet dangling lowers the centre of gravity, which improves handling |
The centre of gravity is very slightly lowered, however I'd be pretty sure that two dangling legs does make the handling worse. It slightly destabilises the whole body, which isn't a good thing. |
