I have to say, I have the fucking shittest luck in the world. I've only had it back for one fucking week.
This diagram should help explain how it happened:
https://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4816/crashdg0.jpg
I was the red arrow, he is the green arrow.
I lost the front end, because it was wet, bike skidded into the side of him, I hit the side of the car.
He said he just didn't see me, even though I had my headlights on, it was about 5pm. Words cannot describe how pissed off I am, but I have a witness who was behind me, so it's all on my side.
Still annoyed though.
The engine starts, but it's proper rough, and it didn't idle and just cut out. I'm assuming(hoping) it's just because it was on it's side and it just needs to be running for a few minutes.
Story of my life. |

Bloody shit luck Graham. That's a dodgy bit of road with a good few accidents over the years, I used to live in Whitehill lane (to the people who don't know the area the car had just come down a steep hill to the junction). He would have had a good view of Valley Drive had he stopped properly but like so many people on that junction he more likely snatched a look to the right and then concentrated on traffic approaching from the left. Was there another vehicle in front of you turning into Whitehill? That's would explain why he didn't notice you. Also, did you call the cops? You should have really for that type of accident so they can charge the driver and give you a better chance of being found not at fault and getting a decent claim (and in any case if you were at all injured). ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

There was a study carried out by a group of Scandinavian scientists, Sweds I think, that proved High Vis clothing made no difference. Someone either sees you or they don't it's got nothing to do with what you wear. There are also findings that you are more likely to be hit by an experienced (I use the word experienced begrudgingly) driver than a newly qualified too. The experienced looks further up the road in either direction and has more chance of missing a bike in the danger area, as in close to their vehicle. A newly qualified driver's vison is more likely to be around the circumference of the vehicle because they are actually concentrating on moving and controlling, rather than observation higher up the road. Paraphrasing and something along those lines anyway.
Sorry to hear about your accident mate, at least you are ok, the bike is replaceable. |

Surely this phenomenon only occurs when viewed from exactly the right angle with the bike and car being exactly the right distance apart. Add movement and it makes it even more unlikely.
It isnt something I've ever seen for myself... ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |

Messenger being shot
Its true that its all about the angles and other factors that determine road positioning.
I often find it har to pick up on people filtering in a heavy line of traffic due to the number of headlights moving about. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Although that is a valid point, but, if you are that close to a 4x4, then you shouldn't get pulled out on anyway as you;d have to be a special kind of stupid not to see a 4x4 with its lights on.
It does help in some situations to have your lights on, in others your hindered, but regardless of wether you do or not some drivers are just really really bad at driving and won't see you no matter what you do, what you wear. You just gotta try your best to predict what they are gonna do.
That really sucks about your crash, I hope it gets sorted soon ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.
