Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I'd go for the NSR.

By the way, how did you get such bad karma in such a short space of time?

Get an RS its fun, faster than the NSR and IF you look after it it is just as reliable as the NSR!

Performance wise, the difference is so miner no piont using that to swing your final decision, for looks its down to personal choice, so basicly that leaves reliability and cost.

Apparently the NSR is alot more reliable and with the mito and rs not as good.

I can't comment on costs but as people will say the mito is a nightmare for parts and with nsr being a lot better and have no idea about the rs.

The Mito is more expensive and spares can be a nightmare but it is the quickest.

The RS is next quickest but more expensive than the NSR and spares can sometimes be a proble.

The NSR is slowest but the best for commuting type riding. Its also the cheapest of the three and the best for spares availability.

NSR wins. Cant beat it for reliability, parts, and looks IMO. It might be a bit slower than the others but its not massivley slower and youre not going to have a 2-toke 125 flat out for too long anyway Laughing

Personally i would go for the NSR but its down to personal prefrence really.

Don't buy the mito- cagiva's are shit for reliability and impossible to buy parts for. I have a planet and its just been a pain in the arse since I got it.

From what I hear the RS isn't much better, so I'd buy an NSR- looks nearly as good, think its cheaper, about as fast, and that japanese build quality is priceless.

The NSR's are Japanese because they were designed in Japan. They just aren't built there, I think the majority were built in Spain if I'm right? Maybe wrong, either way they weren't built in Japan.

I took a long hard look at all 3 bikes and eventually chose the NSR. My reasons were:
1. Reliability. Even if people tell you aprilias / mito's are reliable when well treated I can assure you they are not.
2. Parts availability. When something goes wrong you can get parts in a few days, not a few months.
3. 90% of everyone i've seen riding an aprilia RS has been wearing adidas track bottoms and a hoodie jumper. These bikes are popular with soon-to-be-novaboys. I do not feel like a kid riding an NSR.
4. Comfort. No argument, the NSR is easily the most comfortable.
5. Respect and acknowledgement from other bikers. My mate martin says he very rarely gets 'nods' from bikers on his RS, and at the silver ball cafe he is refered to 'the one with the moped' (mind you, he is a adidas/hoodie type Confused ). . Nobody has slated my NSR (yet, lol), and very very rarely do I not get a nod.

RS's and mito's are very good bikes, its just I think the NSR is the better choice for me.

Hope this helps a bit,
Lee

So you'll be attending the wheel etc more often?

I may get chance to meet you then. Very Happy

Couldn't go this week as I was up in Warton on work! typical with the weather been as nice as it is! But I was on the bike and got to enjoy blackpool. Laughing

I'm no expert on the NSR or where its produced, but what I mean is its made by a japanese company- which means quality and reliability.

Honda is a recognised trademark of Japanese engineering, and I think that's as far as the NSR125's Japanese heritage stretches. Some Japanese guys may have been onvolved in the design, but the bike was made in Europe, for Europe.

If you want a bike to ride and forget, get the nsr. Dont pay over the odds for one.

If you want a faster more stylish bike and dont mind tinkering with the odd problem , get the rs or mito or the planet.

Hi

They are all 2 stroke 125s, so none will be the last word in reliability (and if they were you wouldn't buy them as they would be too slow).

The Mito is the best looking. Probably the best engineered as well. Basically reliable if treated well but the spares situation seems likely to drive you mad at the moment.

The RS is a very good bike. Very good brakes and handling. Quick in full power form. Reliable if treated well. Spares are expensive. Engine spares can be bought easily and cheaper through Rotax.

The NSR is the slowest (5mph+ down on top speed realistically), with the most comfy riding position and the worst brakes. Best spares backup, but Honda spares really are expensive.

Looks are subjective, but the Mito is the best looking to me.

All the best

Keith

I'd say Mito. They look best, and thats all that matters with these bikes.

The mito spares situation is not too bad - mitomondo.co.uk can do most things and i did not have a problem with mechanical spares. 3 cross are slow and disorganised!!! i never had a long wait 4 spares - just the same delay as parts for my aprilia rs50 i had.

Regards

Rich

If i had to go with another 125 i'd probably give the RS a good whirl to be honest.

Saying that i'd love an RS250. (shame about the paint schemes, i think there colour designer has a thing with black...can it be any more boring...?)

In the end its up to what you want.
And sell the damn car!
