Racist Big Brother?

Ok, so its all over the news.

Is it racist...or is it just bullying?
But because the bullyin is directed at an indian, its racist?
I admit i have seen very little of the program so you may say i dont have a leg to stand on in this arguement. But from what ive seen, any comments made about Shilpa, have been just dislike and bitching. I havent seen any comments, (for purposed of the arguement only)such as 'shes a stupid paki', so whats the problem?
Do people not expect there not be bitching/dislike/bullying, its been happening series after series!
If Shilpa was bitching about jade ie. making fun of her accent, would that be racist? Or is this all just Polictical Correctness Hype? You cant mock her accent because shes indian?
What are your views?

Jade's mixed race so i doubt her or Jack would single someone out because of her colour or where she's from. Although i did hear that Jack called her a 'Paki' but it was edited out?

Shilpa is a grown woman, but she seems to have come from a life style not that of your working class British society.....shit happens.

Don't think it is racist by any stretch of the imagination, however I hope the public deem it racist just so that Jade Goody has to crawl into a hole and never show her pig like face on TV ever again.

If there is one "celebrity" I hate it has to be Jade.

Shilpa is a bit of an awkward person to live with as she is used to having everything her won way, so she doesnt realise when she is being unreasonable.

Jade knows she doesnt like the way Shilpa behaves, but cant pin her down on examples of why and how she is out of order.

Jade then gets her gang to hate shilpa. Id say its bullying, but its worth remembering that often the victim somehow does something that triggers the bullying.

I think you could say it was sort of racist as its partly due to the difference in cultures, but mostly id say its a personality clash.

Hopefully the public will hate the jade gang for being mean and kick them out, even if shilpa is a bit annoying.

I'd slip Shilpa a length, but don't actually watch the show so can't really comment in an informed manner on the allegations. A quick flick through the BBC site seems to suggest that the comments made towards the Indian lass were more boorish and unpleasant than racially discriminatory.

Being horrible to an Indian is not automatically racist, despite what the Guardian would have us believe.

I saw breifly Narinda (spelling) talking about the situation with that Dermot.....she was trying to get it heated, she said she's Asian herself so would put her views across, she was saying it is bascially racism.
Dermot was trying to tell her it's not really like that, there' nothing been said that really is meant in a hateful way.

Do people suddenly forget what happens in the real world when they are on TV??!
And this is called a reality TV show, real things happen, real people dislike other people.

Take the over seas big brother, the UK media and PC thinking public would have a field day with what happens in there.
I think it's pathetic, anything those girls talk about makes them look thick as shit.

I have a problem with a lot of the media generally.

I also have a problem with the 'white middle class' people that decide that people different to them will be terribly insulted and needed to be protected by limiting what others should say.

For me there are many things that aren't very nice to say - just out of common courtesy, not 'political correctness'. But suggesting describing someone that comes from India as 'The Indian' as racist seems rather ridiculous as it's descriptive and not particularly 'insulting' etc.

I expect I would be considered 'White Middle Class'.

I think this would be much different if the genders were different.
