Rather eventfull day at work

Bit pointless I know, But intresting none the less to the people who live around the Medway towns I guess. And who will understand Just how windy it was today.

My car was key'd outside work the other day (Again) Evil or Very Mad

So this morning I decided to park my car round the front of the Depot, rather than in my usual place on the end round in the carpark.

Really shit day for work today, We did £300. And for a days work we should be hitting around the £2000 mark! Laughing

People just wernt comming in, at all.
So for the majority of the day, I was sat in the back office watching films! Cool

At about 2 oclock, The highlight of the day happened. A Scooby came in. Tuned to the bollocks etc. Lovely motor. The old shape.
Did pads and disks. Guess who had to road test it. Moi! Cool

Fucking wikid it was! Thumbs Up

Then at about 3 oclock, The wind REALLY picked up, The TV ariel blew off the roof of the building that backs onto our carpark, And was swinging around just feet over the roofs of peoples cars. So Rob went out and cut the cable to take the ariel down. The Building was derelict.

Then about 20 minutes later, I set off to go to the shop, Steped out of the Workshop door, And right infront of my eyes, The building infront of me began to collapse! Shocked

Just out of the blue! The side just came away from the building, Then crumbled down onto the 2 cars parked infront of it. Both cars belonged to two of my mates! Confused

Heres the carnage...

This is the sort of angle I saw the wall from when it fell. it only appeard to hit the Escort until I got a closer look.

The escort was clearly a write off. The front screen was through, The bonnet was trashed, The roof was caved in from where bricks hit it, It was just beyond economical repair!

Another angle. Im stood on the near by sidewalk where school kids were walking. Somehow nobody got hit. For some strange reason, I seemed to be the ONLY person around when the wall fell. Then within 10 minutes, there were people everywhere.

Again, another shot. Shows that the rubble landed on the 05 plate Seat Leon, Which was fully resprayed 6 days ago. Damn!

Then the owner of the property turned up, saying how he didnt insure the place as he knew it was ready to collapse.

Fucking dickhead! Shocked

So now hes got the manager of kwikfit on his back, as we have no carpark, And two very pissed of car owners who have a pair of trashed cars which need paying for.

And thats it really, my super eventfull day. You can see where that massive Pile of rubble is, That is my "Regular" parking spot, Where I put my 55 plate 206. But for some strange reason, I parked it out the front today. And the manager was doing shocks on his Golf TDi. Fucking lucky for the both of us.

I was trying to make cement up in torrential rain and heavy winds..

Went a bit like, get bucket of water, pour in mixer, put bucket down, put shovels of ballast in mixer, pick up cement with spade, watch wind blow most of cement of shovel, put remaining in mixer.. turn round to find the buckets have dissaperad so chase off down the road after a fuckin bucket.. get back to find the cement bags have taken the same escape... was ridiculous Laughing

I remeber in glyfade (greece) we had mental winds, but they were very sporadic.

So youd get in a tank with a turtle, put down the stuff that had taken you ages to accumale, guaze, betadine, needles with medcation in, hibidine etc.

Wasnt anything special to look at really. All the good stuff was hidden under the bonnet. And believe me, It was good stuff! Shocked

I was road testing it as he said there was a noise comming from the front, Like a grinding. So I took it round the block. Couldnt resist getting my foot down a tad. I didnt really rag it, But at the side of my 206, Even "Cruising" in this thing felt fast! Thumbs Up

As for claiming on the insurance for these cars, Ive got no idea. The "House" owner seems to think they are on their own as the house is not insured. The car owners seem to think that they are going to take him to court if he dosent cough up for repairs and a new car for Chris as his escort is well and truely dead.

Ill get back to you tomorrow and let you know if the rest of the building has collapsed! Laughing

I've been into Kwik Fit with various cars in the past for bits and pieces - never had cause to complain. But putting a 17/18 year old tyre fitter road testing performance cars is nothing short of financial suicide.

My car has been into Kwik Fit twice. The first time the door got scratched when the mechanic opened it with the keys in his hands. I let that one go. The next time I went my car came back with a 6-inch scratch in the bonnet (so deep it has dented the metal).

So neither I nor anyone I know will ever set foot in a branch of Kwik Fit ever again.

Well spence is still trying to sort out his Seat as he dosent want to have to claim on his own insurance. Even though the house owner offerd to pay his Access, Still means Spence looses his No claims. Thumbs Down

Chris wasnt too botherd about the escort, hes got a BM Z3, he only bought the escort for £50, to do up and sell on to make a bit of pocket money.
