Posted: 19:22 - 20 Jan 2007 Post subject: Spark Plug Covered In Oil - Bike Cuts Out |
 |
|
Symptoms on bike
- 2t, Rieju 50cc SMX
- Starts for a little bit, but if left idling will cut out
- Before it cuts out the engine makes a different noise, runs slower me tink
- Then if you leave the bike 5 mins it will usually start again, and then cut out in a min.
Symptoms on Spark Plug
- Spark plug black with oil
What I thought
I thought maybe it floods a little or something, then cuts out.... so then drains off/drys and so works again
Here are some links to resources about oily plugs:
https://www.rmh-d.com/service/spark_plugs.php
https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/maintenance/sparkplugs.htm
Any Help Greatly Appreciated,
Alex |

it sounds like you are running rich for one reason or another,
you may have a leaf in the air box or a clogged filter,
go for a ride and then when you stop the bike, check the plugs, see if the plug is still black,
(clean it before the ride as well) (check and clean filter before you do that) ____________________ the humans are dead

My other half wants to know why are you starting it and letting it idle, why are you not starting it and riding away on it?
And if you do start it and ride away on it does it still do it? ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |
