You could put a 55/60w bulb in, but I've heard people saying it melts the cables and warps the headlight glass (well, plastic). I know what you mean though, 25w is like trying to light the road using your mobile phone screen 35w seems to be what most people use if they upgrade.
You can order them from www.Beedspeed.com

Yes, I know this, but I want to know if I can put in a higher rated bulb like as in 45/40w ?
Has anyone done this to their NS125R-K ?
What I would really like to do is fit a 60/55 bulb if one can be found, but alas no luck so far.
Could I change the headlight unit for another one that uses a higher watt bulb and will the bikes electrics / wiring stand up to the extra drag in power without the need to upgrade the wiring ?
I have looked all over the place on the internet for some info on this and came up blank ! |

I don't want to sound like Stephen here( ), but you'd do well to search through previous posts on this site. I'm sure it's been covered before, you know a lot of the people on here riding Blades and the like had NSR's a little over a year ago. |

Hi
Standard is a 35/35. You could probably get away with a larger bulb, but I am not sure how much larger. It is possible to melt a headlight, but not that likely. However not sure if halogen bulbs are a touch hotter.
My early AF1 had a 45w headlight bulb but I have run it as a 60w for years. I had a 100/80w bulb in the FZ for a few years which worked well, but that melted the wiring. Avoiding this problem is easy if you use the standard wires to trigger a relay, and then run wires from the battery through the relays to actually provide power to the headlights
All the best

OK, just been to my local Honda dealer in Surbiton and had a look at the book that they have on the NS125R-K/F and it seems that there are two versions of the head lamp unit.
The version I have uses the 25/25w bulb and the other version allows you to use a 60/55w halogen bulb, but get this, the headlight unit costs over £180.00 ! Also the bulb fitting is not the same and requires a new bulb holder which is included in the replacement hedlight unit.
OK, now I need to find a breaker thats got this headlight unit that uses the 60/55w bulb in stock, anyone have any info ? |
