 |

Anyone had this problem????
I pulled into a station at Chobham about a week ago and I pulled into a pump the far side of the court and opened the cap stuck the nozzle in waiting for the idiot at the counter to allow the fuel to flow. anyway, I see him waving at me to change pump. My first reaction was that the pump was faulty. So I change to the next row down. began the same normal procedure, and still he waves me around. There were no signs of the pump being out of order. So I moved again to the front row and he gave me the green light!
At this point am fuming, it is on my route to work, so as you can understand I was in a bit of a hurry. I filled up and went to pay.
Got to the moron at the cash register, I said "What the hell was that all about?" He remarks "We have had a lot of ride offs with bikes" so I gave him an icy look and thought Whatever just pay and go. he then starts to blabber on about all the problems he has had. So I said "Look, I really dont have time to listen to your problems, can I just pay?"
So due to these idiots driving off without paying it wasted more of my time and made me look like an idiot driving from pump to pump looking like a naughty school boy being sent to the front row so the teacher can keep an eye on me!
I thought the petrol stations/companies had this problem sorted with their big brother(cameras) clocking the number plates on the vehicles? Is this right? and what would you have done? Also if they have these cameras in place why on gods green earth did he have me jumping through hoops?
So Petrol Stations......... |

Unfortunately all you can do is vote with your feet (wheels).
There is no "right to consume" in law and so a retailer is not obliged to sell you anything in any way other than they choose to do so.
Just go somewhere else. |

There's one in Milton Keynes that I know of, an ASDA, which is a lot cheaper than the others in the area. I guess if they don't have to pay the monkey in the booth they can pass the savings on. Gets my vote. There was one in Northampton (a BP), but they reverted back to normal pumps some time back. ____________________ Current: CB500 Previous: CB100N, CB250RS, XJ900F, GT550, GPZ750R/1000RX, AJS M16, R100RT, Enfield Bullet

Funny! i had the exact same thing happen to me at my local station! Was never a problem when i was on my little yammy virago but the first time i pulled up on my bandit my little ethnic friend behind the counter refused to put the pump on. I had to drive round to another pump so he could get my plate on camera. When i went to pay i just said " dont worry mate, not all of us are theiving c**ts"
he just smiled. i give the sod the eye every time i go in now. haha ____________________ 2006 Yamaha FZ1 - the comfy R1 |

I've always preferred the Pay at Pump both on my bike and in the car but there seems to be a diminishing number of them in the Midlands.
Any ideas why? Is it more expensive to maintain a petrol pump than to pay for a member of staff? ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

yeah, unfortunately, AFAIK, they haven't got machines that take cash, and pumps i have used don't take debit cards.... ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Get some better happy pills, hit the gym & buy a medallion the size of a dinner plate. Job done |
