After reading this thread I noticed a trend for quick turnover of bikes, the average being 1 bike every 0.95 of a year. I'm guessing that this is down to the fact that there is a higher proportion of younger/new riders who have followed the 50->125->600 path in a relatively short period of time. As much as I would like a collection of bikes again, space and finances do not allow it, so it's one at a time for me for the present, which leads me to the question above.

My longest posession was the CB250RS, at 4.5 years. What about you?

My R6 that I have got now I have had since October 2003. It was brand spanking new and hence I know the bike inside out and it does all that I want it to. I have no plans to change it quite just yet. Very Happy

Well I have only owned two bikes, the longest I had my first one which was a CBR250 was 2 years and a bit.

My FZR I've had for only a year now and I plan to keep it for another year at the moment.

Still miss that little CBR250 cracking bike.

Had my bike since 2001, no plans of getting rid of it as there is nothing else on the market I want.

I'd considered it, its actually quite involved, not the makeing of it (which still takes allot of doing) but the registering of it, its allot cheaper jst to buy one bizzarely, ven if you had all the stuff in the first place :/
Its a few months off but i'll see what happens Very Happy

I tend to keep my bikes for a while, the only reason I've had as many as I have is down to the disposable winter hacks and basket cases pushing the figure up.

Just to buck the trend.
Got my TZR250 in 1990. I did leave it festering in my mum's garage for 8 years but its back on the road now.
I also "found" my 1980 GT185 a few years ago which is now a pile of scrap...erm I mean a project.
Wouldn't mind something a bit more modern....maybe this summer!

Hi

Aprilia AF1 that I bought in July 1989. I did "sell" it to a friend for a year or 2, on the basis that he would pay me when he could afford to, but I got it back (can't complain, seat was recovered properly and the wheels decently powder coated).

Had the FZ750 since the end of 1990, and Charlottes Cagiva Freccia has been around since September 1990.

All the best

Keith

Think it was my 400/4 - had that for 2 years. Sold it early as I didn't want to use it for a 50 miles a day daily commute.
