A man walked out of a Military Road bowling alley with a full glass of beer and proceeded to walk home. Police stopped him, only to find that the glass wasn't filled with beer, but a fluid of similar color.

A Depew resident reported that four suspicious adults with children were in the area, ringing doorbells. Police determined the suspects to be Jehovah's Witnesses.

A Lancaster man reported that his upset girlfriend ran along the side of his moving vehicle and stabbed the rear passenger tire, then tried to smash the side window with a golf club. The man was able to wrestle the club away from the woman, who then fled the scene.
[author's note: I think I dated this woman. Didn't know she moved to Buffalo.]

A male was reportedly yelling and screaming obscenities in his Randolph Avenue driveway. Police reported he actually was trying to rap.

The Police police by consent. Now I will assume you don't understand what this means so I will attept to explain it using really small words.

WE the people allow the Police to police the populous. People like you who have nothing to do with them, refuse to help them, refuse to help others and refuse to be a part of the community in which you live only hinder the police. Is that plain enough for you?

Noticed, how 'The Emergency Services', generally (like when you call 999, the operator gives all 3 options) covers police, fire and ambulance?, they all have their fair share of good's and bad's, but only the police are referred to as a force being not so good sometimes, where is the insulting of the latter forces?

Fair point, they don't pull you over for stuff, and hand out fines etc, but at the end of the day, they do deserve credit, but rarely seem to be given it.

At the end of the day, the people who use "pig", "filth" and suchlike with the express intention of offending are usually the same wannabe wideboys that rely on the fact they're too far down the food chain for anyone genuinely hard to bother smearing them. It's just another way of showing how little they care for authority and how much they disrespect the laws of the country and anyone in a position to tell them what to do.

What gets me is when I am called "a f***ing pig" by a 4 year old. The abuse I can handle but from a four year old! What sort of person is that little shite going to grow up to be?

In my opinion, if you're a great copper, by that I mean professional, hard working, able to apply the law fairly and you don't unnecessarily prevent law abiding citizens from continuing with their lives, then most decent people would refer to you as a police officer, a copper, perhaps even a bizzy.(remember that)

I have only ever heard criminals, youngsters (and perhaps a few relatively decent folk who have met the wrong copper having a bad day) refer to police officers as filth, fuzz, pigs or bla[censored] (in films).

As for,"well if you don't like being called a pig, get another job", well it may sound silly and childish, but there is a point to that. It reminds me of my days as a fireman, we were told "if your not happy walking into a burning building when everyone else is ruinning away from it, choose another career". And earlier, when joining the forces we were told "if you dont like the idea of someone try to shoot you dead, leave now". That's life.

So coppers choose to put themselves in a position where most people will accept them and others will hate them. They must accept it, simple as. I'm sure most of them do accept it and sleep well at night.

Personally I have mixed feelings about the police. I know a few who are professional, hard working, able to apply the law fairly and you don't unnecessarily prevent law abiding citizens from continuing with their lives, I have respect for them.
Then there are others who are just in it for the pay.
