Hi,

Just need to know whether or not to replace my coils.

They are reading below the suggested ohmic readings in the manual and the bike wont start, but all the plugs are still sparking.

Too weak a spark?

Tried everything else.

Probably not - as long as you are getting a decent spark off them, you should be OK. I'd be very suprised if two(?) coils failed simultaniously and exactly the same way to stop the engine running.

Well, one coil is giving a slightly better reading, but i thought the same as you finpos.

Grrr, this is really pissing me off now. It must be the mixture. Ive replaced the leads, plug caps, stripped the carbs and cleaned the plugs.

Might have to bite the bullet and call the local spanner monkey.

As a desperate measure, try pouring a puddle of petrol into the bottom of your airbox - it'll richen the mixture up for a bit and might help it start. If it works, you probably have a problem with the cold-start enrichment circuit on the carbs.

I'll have a go at re-setting the mixture first. But im unsure of your suggested method finpos? Do you mean the vapour from the fuel will be enough?

That's about the size of it. See also cans of "Easy-Start" you buy in halfords Smile

I wouldn't bugger about with the mixture until the bike is running and up to temperature.
