2000 miles ago I got a nail through my rear tyre. Same thing happened again today. . Gonna cost about £200+ for a new set of rubber (may as well do the front along with the rear) but there are no BT-020's in stock at the local garage. They do have Dunlop qualifiers though. anyone used them? Are they any good?

Don't know what your tire sizes are but BCT (https://www.bfmmotorcycles.co.uk/) are doing some good deals. Around £149.99 for a pair of BT020's and its £7.05 for delivery. |

I've just had tyre slime put into my tyre when a nail lodged itself into it and can't be taken out. Seems to have done the job though. EDIT -the nail went in at an angle, rather than remove the tyre from the rim as it was clearly seen that plugging it would be no use due to the angle of penetration (i.e. more than 20 degrees) and the small diameter of the puncture, it was better to seal it with slime.
I've got dunlop qualis on my bike front and rear and the offer a high degree of grip. The level of feedback is great and it lets you know exactly what is going on both at the front and at the rear. It grips well in the damp/wet too when i first picked up the bike. Remember the 97 ZX6R ain't particularly reknown for it's finesse and handling . I'm not too sure how long they'll last compared to the BT020, but worth a shot.
I recommend the Qualis, even though they are a tad expensive, they were ride recommended but came with my bike when i bought it. Having said that, i've not had any basis for comparison as my old bike had BT092's which were grippy for my type of use and lasted long. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
