Most probably be the idle speed. My mate set his very low on his bike enough so it would cut out if he doesnt rev it when riding. He likes to get as much miles per gallon out of his bike as possible and will do anything for a bit extra . ____________________ Current: MT-10, Bandit, Grom, GPZ500

Sorry to resurrect this...
I'm still having problems with her cuttin out at low-ish revs - she doesn't idle too cleanly any more (it's more of a splutter than a purr) and often as I'm coming to a stop there'll be a clicking noise and she's gone and I have to push the starter again.
One thing I didn't mention last post, is that I had her serviced a few weeks ago, and they fitted a new spark plug for me. Would this have anything to do with it? Do bike plugs need to be 'gapped' like car plugs? Or might it be something to do with fuel supply? |

You actually paid some one to change a spark plug on a 2T???!?!!? |
Well yeah, I hadn't had her serviced since I got her in September, and I wanted someone in-the-know to look her over and check for any problems. They stripped the brakes for me too, and did something with the bearings, and fitted a new spark plug (only one I think, although it's a4t). Y'see, my knowledge of these things is very limited, so I always knew it was going to be an expensive hobby
She was cutting out again today on the way home - really annoying when you're trying to make progress in busy traffic. If I have my choke out a little, it doesn't happen so much, but I can't ride around like that all the time. I'm having another lesson in the morning, then I'm taking it back to the garage (Ariel: yep, same guys who did the service). They said it'd only take em 10 mins to suss it out and they'll make me a coffee whilst I wait |
