I wont have a bad word said against the little monkey and its Chinese origins, but I did have to do some work to it recently Laughing

Simple job really, the chain was rusty and needed lubing. Upon inspection I noted that it was a little slack. I guessed this anyways as you could hear the chain rattle when down gearing.

So, with a cloth in gloved hands, oil was poured on and then gently massaged into the chain with the rear wheel being turned to evenly distribute the lube.

So one down, onto to the next job, taking up the slack of the chain.

With the bike balanced on a tool box, got a 10mm spanner and started to tighten the chain adjuster nut, nothing, tried the other side, nothing Eh? Then attempted to try and loosen the nut, still nothing. The nut would just spin on the threaded chain adjuster?

I then realised that I hadn't undone the rear wheel spindle so the wheel wouldn't have gone anywhere anyways Rolling Eyes So I then had to spend the huge total of £7 inc p&p for new adjusters as I had worn away the threads Laughing

They seem a little shorter than the old ones but fit none the less. Not a huge amount of adjustment, either slack or tight, so tight it is Shifty.

Went for a test spin as it will be my only mode of transport next week whilst the car is in the garage for work.

Little bit wobbly in all of this wind and a little unstable on the corners.

Inspected the chain post test ride only to see that the rear wheel is absolutley covered in oil from cast off from the chain Brick Wall

Lesson learnt, be gentle, think things through and dont rush.

Broke a stud mount off engine on cbr600f Laughing jb welded back on and was fine ever after Mr. Green

Lesson learned: Dont use non crushable copper washers, and when it feels like its about to break, it probably is...

I managed to shear 3 out of 6 exhaust studs, just a 1/4 more turn...

Come to think of it, I must be a real slow learner Laughing

Rode into a ford on a green lane in winter without testing the depth first. Only took me an hour to drag her out and two days to change the engine.

Rode a DT50 flat-out under a barrier once as a teen whilst flat on the tank thinking I was some kind of stuntman. Smacked my spine good and proper. I was sure if I tried it again I could do it so I did it on the way back and guess what? Yep, smacked my spine again Very Happy
