 |

Hello,
Totaly new here, google searched for kind people with biking knowhow and it brought up this forum as the first option!
I have a 97 RS125 had it about 5 months and never had much of a problem with it, untill yesterday!
Heres the deal,
When I push the electric start it dont turn over, all you get is a faint clicking in or around the engine, I removed the fairing just to see where the clicking was coming from and its coming from this box
/pic/ https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/Rain3h/DSC00012.jpg
It sits behind the rad, ive checked all the plugs and wires are not lose and done the same all over the bike, Ive tryed bump starting it and it works fine!
So im guessing its purely electrical and that this box has somthing to do with it, but what do I know?
Any ideas on what the problem is, or this little box would be great!
Thanks |

hmm I was just about to post a similar problem.. If you change the title of this post you'll get some more interest in the thread
My problem is a a DT125RE. I get just a clicking sound but my bike will bump fine too. I used to just put it into gear, move back and forwards, put it back into neutral then it would turn over and start. Now it just very occasionally tries to turn once but wont continue to turn the engine over..
Ive tracked the clicking noise to a box thats holds the fuses..
My fuses seem ok (checked yours?) and ive also tried another battery after I tried charging my old battery and im unconvinced its the batteries because sometimes it will start after a good 30 attempts (1st gear, rock bike, neutal, starter button
Like you ive also checked all connections/earths
I belive the clicking noise we are hearing though is a solenoid so I guess its workings else it wouldnt click...
hopefully someone can help us out
edit 1 .. this may be of some use to you.. https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=110467&highlight=click
edit 2 .. "R" Bike Starting Problems?
Click, Click, Click, . . . Is that all you hear sometimes when you press that starter button? Chances are, that the clicking is coming from your bikes starter relay (located under the fuel tank in. If so, it is telling you that you better replace it before you are forced to walk home soon. Usually, this "clicking" instead of actual starter operation begins intermittently and gets progressively worse over a short period of time. That's lucky and allows you time to procure a new one before it's time to walk.... HMMMMMM... ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

just got back from the yammy workshop. They said check the battery too else its either a stuck starter motor or a new relay (which is £32!!! wtf?! )
anyways I charged my original battery the other day and gave it a go but it made no difference so I charged the battery from my speedfight 100 and put that in and still no different.
checked the voltage of the original battery just now and its 13v
checked the voltage on the speedfight battery thats in my bike right now and its 13v, then 12.7v ignition on and 12.5v when pressing the starter button. It dropped to 12.4v after leaving the ignition on for 5 mins.
I also checked the voltage going to the starter motor and thats 12.5 too.
@ Raineh. Dont mean to hijack your thead mate just I was going to post about my problem and I saw your thread ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)
