Got a horsefield just outside my road.
Which is always a laugh going down.
It's got speedbumps and horseshite.
recipe for disaster for an overtaking motorcycle.
Your overtaking, car pulls out, dodge car, hit shit, kill bike.

They go far too slowly and imo are dangerous on the road as they get scared of cars etc.
I still can't forget coming across one mid corner and scaring the hell out of the thing, I wasn't in a position to do anything about it, horse rider probably blamed me aswell ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

They should need to clear the crap up after themselves.
If dog walkers need to clear up after their animals then it only makes sense that an animal capable of leaving a HUGE steaming pile of excrement in the middle of the road is going to need some kind of shovel attachment.
I can only imagine the outcry if I were to take a dump in the middle of the road... especially after 6 pints of Guinness the night before |

Ok.
Firstly the majority of horse riders Hate the roads and will use them minimally as it is so dangerous (mainly because of cars and lorries). But unfortuneatly we have no choice sometimes.
I can see what you mean about the poo in the roads and until i got into biking i never relised how much danger it caused but it desapers in a day or so or washed away. There is n the other hand no way on this planet that we could clear up after the horses its just not practical or safe. SORRY . I would if i could.
There are some very stuck up riders around that dont treat bikers very well and are compleatly stuck up and are just looking for a reason to bitch but there are some that arent.
I have always wanted to say THANK YOU to all those bikers who have slowed down for me as it is very much apprecated and now my horse wont even bat an eyelid at bikes
THANKS
Went off track there but if you hit a Dollop at speed or on a bend it can be very slippy . ____________________ Theory test - passed - 05/04/2007 CBT - passed - 08/04/2007 A2 - passed - 13/06/2007 |

end of the day, horses aint taxed, and CAN control themselves (ie if it goes off on one, the rider aint got much choice but to hang on really)
so if they need to be taken somewhere that can only be accessed by road, then they should be in a horse box.
you cant have a proper crosser on the road, they should be taken by trailer, so why not horses, if you have the money to keep horses properly, surely you have the money for a tow bar and second hand horse box?
just a thought
cheers
