due to a change work wise im now commuting about 50 miles a day, its a mixture of motorway (boring!) and nice fast a roads, and as good as my cb1 is, im now wanting something a bit quicker..
ive narrowed it down to 3 bikes - bit of a strange bunch really, but these are the three im keen on..
1. honda cbr600f. The sensible choice... but will i get bored?
2. aprilia rsv mille. I'd love a big v twin, i can get reasonable insurance and i think they are lookers..
3. Triumph speed triple. Ive lusted after one of these for years, i like the idea of buying british, and you dont see too many around.

i only passed my test in feb, but im a sensible kind of bloke so im not worried about the huge power increases. i think my only concern is that the bike will more than likely be used all year round, so it needs to be robust, henc why ive shortlisted the honda.
i'll try to get some testrides, but i need some input other than the evil little voice in my head telling to go for the triumph...
ps. ive about 4k to spend.
cheers Thumbs Up

Ok well if the RSV and the speed triple are serious options for you i would take the CBR off the shortlist, although it would be perfect for what you need, so is your CB1, so i take it you are after a bit more excitement, and you seem to be able to afford it...

My vote would go for the RSV for the sound and grunt of a big twin...

Plus as good a bike as the speed triple is those double headlamps are too big IMHO...

Speed Tripple i think, the RSV are ment to be more "race" position (though i have never rode one so dont know how this effects the ride, esp a commute)

If the RSV is on your list, i would add this:

good point about the tuono, i hadnt thought of that Thumbs Up
yep, basically the cb1 isnt exciting enough for me now, i want a bike that can cope with the commute, but entertain me on the way. its got to have a bit of soul.
4k is my max budget, if i can spend less then i'll be happier Thumbs Up

Try the yamaha thunderace or thundercat.

Or even a ducati multistrada. They've got soul, but are fuck ugly
