I have the pleasure of working in the Chase Lane area for 2 days a week for the next month and am staying in a travelodge in Ilford (where I am writing this from) and was wondering how busy the north circular is at 8 in the morning traveling westbound from Ilford towards Chase Lane.

According to Autoroute it's a 10 minute drive, what's a realistic journey time in a car?

Oooo! Ilford. Dodgy place.

Some right tricky types work round there Laughing Laughing

Dunno about the north circ travel times.
Is Chase Lane off Enfield somewhere, I think, near the A10 junction?

It would probably be 10-15 minutes on a bike from the Travelodge to Enfield, but in a car: ugh.

Chase Lane is Chingford way, I'd have no worries on the bike but unfortunatly with all the work related crap I need to carry can't avoid using the car.

And yes it does sem a little dodgy round here. The front door of the Travelodge is permanetly locked and you either have to have a key or be buzzed in.

There's a quieter route you can take (either crackbrook road/ley street -> barkingside -> tomswood hill -> buckhurst hill -> woodford bridge -> woodford -> chingford). It's probably a couple of miles extra, but that's more-or-less the route I used to take to go from ilford to enfield town by car, and the journey was anywhere from 25-45 minutes door-to-door depending on traffic.
The main bonuses are that the route takes you over the resevoir on king's road in chingford, so there's some nice windy roads and a bit of scenery for a few miles, and there were no speed cameras on the route last I checked (except for one on cranbrook road just before the barkingside tesco).

The road that runs between the reservoirs is one big straight line.

Confused

I'm sure there were some bends somewhere around there. I probably meant to say that there's a few trees and a roundabout. Practically a nature reserve compared to the A406 though Smile
