Exhaust questions

This may be a easy thing to do but I am not sure, I have not worked on bikes much. I have been thinking about getting an exhaust system for my gsx-r600 but when looking at the systems it says that you should remap or rejet your bike. So my question is...

-How do you remap / rejet a bike?
-Is it somewhat simple?

depends on the year, Carb vs injectors

if its Carbs , you need to adjust these screws , which you tighten in fully , then undo a slight bit to alter the mixture , my NTV is done via a GUESS, so is GSXR mick's.

Remapping is sort of just changing the fuel injector map in the ECU ,

to do it properly you need somebody to do it for you with the help of a dyno thingie to get the mixture right, too lean it burns holes in your cylinders, too rich it washes away oil off the bored and wears out the pistols quick.

It's a 2006 and is injected. So I guess I need to take it into a shop and have in dynoed then if I change the exhaust?

you say exhaust do you mean just the end can or the full system down pipes collector and all? ,

I would end up getting the full system most likely. Bad karma... must have a longer post haha.

Just get it Dyno'd then a FULL stainless system with no extra performance is about
£350 , not including fitting, a performance exhaust system'll cost £500+ and is wasted
if you do not dyno and remap your bike ECU which'll be £50-£110, its a bit like putting
BT45s on a 400 sports bike defeats the point,
