no such thing as a 'licence to plug tyres' they're just scared in case it fails, that you'll sue them, and want to sell you a new tyre anyway.
I've been runing on plugged tyres for ages, on both the Firestorm and the FJR, and at regular (for me) speeds, without any problems.
Buy a plug kit and do it yourself.. it really IS that easy.

When I went to France on my bike last December I was messing about on our holiday home drive (was a shingle drive) and the night before we were due to head home I got a screw stuck in it. Local french bike mechanic charged me 10 Euro's.
I suppose it will be like 10-20. Although down my local garage they would probably do it for free. Only really takes 2-3 minutes  |
