In all seriousness find a friend with a caravan you can borrow. A weekend in rainy wales in some rotting husk of a caravan that smells of mould should put her off.
Hopefully she hates its, before she discovers it /after/ buying a caravan. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Can she tow a caravan after just passing her test?
(I'm unsure of what the law is, thought I overheard someone say new drivers couldn't - Not on their licence or something don't quote me on this though ) ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!

phew.....cheers Johnny GSX-R...... I may get away with it for a few years at least.....
Every childhood holiday ( appaert from the obligatory disneyland and eurodisney ordeals) was spent in a caravan. I used to love Devon and the Lakes......
i thought i had escaped when at 13 i was too tall to fit in the bunk beds, so got trusted to say at home but now it's coming back to haunt me. |

I believe you are fine to tow a caravan providing it is under 750kg if you have just passed your test.
The obvious solutions I'd go for are a) get a caravan that has the back cut out so you can load a bike into it (popular racer trick) either to take along for fun or for trackdays.
b) Get a proper motohome converted van that you can load a bike into for the same purposes .
If I had space to keep a caravan I'd have probably done so ages ago!
I'd definitely be renting one first - though it might be your mind that's changed if your used to tents! However, it is quite a bit of hassle to tow a caravan in a car I suspect - not quite so bad when I've done it in a van, but still not great. Definitely takes a bit of getting used to - wait to the first time you have to do a three point turn, then refuse to get out to take the caravan off the car and see if she still likes them. |
