Lovely looking 125! Have a word with Kickstart, he has a fetish for obscure low capacity Italian machinery.

Never seen one but engines maybe the same as other gileras - the CX125. Are they the 125 with USD forks? Cool Thumbs Up

Theyve got a starter so may have other parts.

Got that starter on my watch list already, sadly seller has no other parts
I've emailed a couple Gilera parts specialists see if they can help.

I know its crazy but the rebuild budget isn't overly high and after taking it apart yesterday seems i have some repair work to do on the fairings too... Total budget is £800... £400 already spent. Shocked

Its a new hobby getting boogered machines back to life and hopefully making a few bob when it comes to selling them.

Lesson learnt on what bikes to buy... think the '94 Aprilia rs125 may be lass hassle, lol.

Check out the race-esque chain guard...

Is that stock or aftermarket?
Has it been raced or something?

Easy way to check is to see if the sump plug has been drilled for lockwiring.

Or slightly less likely very chipped rims where it's had mucho tyre changing. But yeah, have a little peak for lockwiring.

well its 33bhp at full power expect its not too disimilar to the aprilia rs125 (my other project lol)

So far no joy on parts have emailed a couple places... one replied suggesting i contact the other lol

No evidence of lock wiring so doubt its been raced

a coulple standard piccies i found

You got that off ebay didn't you?

I was watching that and was going to stick a bid down but decided against, just because parts and info are hard to come by, and re-sell value even when running with T&T will not be that high.

Lovely little bikes, a mate of mine had one when they first came out and I clock him at almost 115mph when I was on my KR1S.

Its got a disk and caliper on the rear, so it certainly wont have a cable. Wink

Yeah, I was watching both of them, was thinking of chucking a 250 motor in and dumping the 125.

Decided to spend the ££ on my current bikes instead, dont really have room for a 3rd at the momnet!! Laughing

Lovely bike. Very Happy

I'd get it as close to stock as possible (except consumables), it may bump the resale value up a bit

Looks very similar to the Aprilia AF125, which Keith has 2 of I believe, no doubt the bits are all interchangeable.

For a start the chain's on the other side...

Not sure why someone assumed parts would be interchangable, you wouldn't go and buy bits off a hornet for a bandit, no matter how similar a market they cover.

Hehehe... never by a Gilera mate... but if you need any more parts check out Bob Wright Motorcycles, he is a Gilera specialist, and keep looking through eBay as well.

I've been looking for a black side panel for my Gilera Coguar for well over a year now, but I don't want to pay £35+ for a little bit of plastic...

well got most of the bits sorted from Bob Writes... top place no sucking of teeth or anything! could even have had a NEW starter motor but it was £95 and i got the ebay one for £35 (bonus!)

Build cost inc bike cost now at £480 with battery, spark, brake hose and a load of bolts and fixings left to buy...
looks like the budget will extend to getting the fairings properly repaied (couple cracks around mount holes previously bodged) and may be a once over with paint ... now decals or trust my paint man to paint on the graphics?
