ello

im looking for some slightly brighter whiter headlamp bulbs for my derbi rather than the orange coloured ones i got on at the mo so i was looking round at some of the xenon ones on ebay.
got a few questions about them.
firstly my bike is supposed to use 12v 35w H11 bulbs - all the xenon ones ive seen are 55w bulbs - would this be a problem?
ive also seen some LED bulbs - does anyone know which are better the xenon ones (https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/H1-H3-H4-H7-H8-H9-H10-H11-H12-HB3-9005-HB4-9006-XENON_W0QQitemZ290120111303QQihZ019QQcategoryZ72235QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) or the LEDS ones (https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-H11-Fog-Lamp-1W-High-Power-LED-Xenon-White-Bulb_W0QQitemZ200111616992QQihZ010QQcategoryZ72235QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) - ive never seen either so have no idea.

cheers

Gaz.

it depends on how good your charging system is, and how thick the wiring to the light is,

have you got a manual handy??
have a look in there and see if there is any specs on your alternator,

well you are only using roughly 75odd watts at any one time not including the drain from the coil,
but i would say it will probly be ok as you are only 20watts over standard, roughly the same amount as the indicators when they are running, you may find with the new lamp that when you turn on the indicators, that it will dim,
the only other thing is weather the cable is large enough to take it,

35w = 2.9 amps
55w = 4.5amps

so you will need a at least a 0.5mm2 cable to handle, which i think minium you will have a 0.75mm2 cable
so i think you should be ok
