 |
|
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a new leather jacket for the summer.
I already have a leather jacket, but last year it was just too hot.
I also have a mesh jacket, but I am a bit worried about its safety rating ie its great at keeping me cool but what about sliding down the road?
How affective are the jackets with the holes in, for keeping you cool.
If you look at this jacket here it seems to have lots of holes and is only £110 from a place fairly (40 miles) from me.

I have a one piece that is perforated (as its aimed at racing i guess). The perforations do keep me cool when riding at speed during the day when I need it. I started to find that when I commute earlier on I was getting too cold, and if I worked late it was getting cold again.
I went out and bought an EDZ innershell, a wafer thin shirt you wear under your leathers that is windproof. If your going for a quick pootle round town leave it at home, the perfs will keep you coolish. If youre going for a longer blast and its a bit cooler stick the shirt on and it should keep you fairly warm!
