It does start but I got to bump it. Starter has gone and I dont have a kickstart (WTF where yamaha thinking then they took the kickstart off the newer DT's?!).
Just wondering because my first MOT is next month and I dont wanna spend out getting the starter sorted when Ive lived with bumping it for a while now. Anyhow I need a new front tyre anyway
cheers
also can bumpstarting damage the crank? ive heard of bending crankarms etc.. ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

Nah deffo the starter because occasionally it will start and Ive tried another battery which I know is good and it doesnt sort the problem.
There happens to be a slight problem then.. My front lights are those UFO/Acerbis twin spots. I have the dipped beam wired to original parking/pilot light wire and the spot beam is wired to the switched full beam (which only works when the engine is running). So even with the original front light the engine would need to be running to check full beam?.. I do have the original front light but the glass is cracked and I guessed that was a MOT failure?
I can however, kill the engine and the full beam can still be switched on and off aslong as I do no turn off the ignition. ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

as long as it starts it should be ok. However, there may be an issue with the electric start. A lot of things are "if fitted, must work" so i think if you whipped the start switch off you would get away with it, but im not 100% sure. I will do some digging...
EDIT: according to this link the starting ststem will not be tested, but the bike will have to be running for the exhaust to be tested for noise, however this is at the tester's discretion, ie. it's up to him whether or not it gets tested. So you may have to start it, you may not, but it shouldnt fail on the starter system.
