5 Day Trip to Holland (go tomorrow - 11th)

Hi,

Basically the GF told me she was going to book us a trip to Holland as a surprise but decided to tell me about it.

What i want to know is, anyone done it before with the GF? Obviously there will be lots of pot smoking and seeing what in the Red Light District Also other things like the sex museum and random bars in the evenings.

She told me she wants to have a look at live sex shows and stuff like that so lots to choose from but ive never been and want a few recommendations on the best way to spend our time.

Also, THIS is the hotel we are thinking of (though expedia), is meant to be very central and ok rooms. Anyone recommend anywhere better?

I've been 3 times now and had a good time each time.

It's pretty much how you'd imagine it - very seedy

The coffee shops on the whole are a bit manky and crowded. Better off buying some weed and going to one of the bars. Buy your weed from the Dampkring coffee shop. The city is very nice once you start getting away from the RLD.

i go every year

places to visit are NES cafe more modern pool tables and wicked space cakes and hot choccie and weed

de kuels quiet place with some fine buddage a place to sit and chill and have a quiet beer

barneys for breakfast is a must, but be up early as its packed from 10 onwards

avoid buying anything of the nasties ( marrocans/illeagal immigrants) they will give you a sample of coke then pull another bag out thats got baking soda in it and ull get shafted if cokes ur thing

best bet is to avoid even making eye contact

never carry wallets in back pockets as theft is rife there

always make sure your mrs bag is zipped closed and securly handled

try there hashes they are genrally much better than the weed, tbh i know alot of the breeeders over there and have met alot of them face to face, they dont have any scrouples and there hydro weed is piss

deffo to try is charras hash merrocan black weed is super silver haze

avoid anything like tiger or weed thats the cheapest o nthe menu genrally is bollocks

i love the place, i dont ever visit the hotels as i rent a place of a guy called frederics he does canal boats to stay in and a huge 3 level house

dont eat from vendors i nthe street ie cake vendors as they put there stale hard food on hot plates so it feels and looks fresh

ie i bought an applejack and my pals bought kebabs and inside they were mouldy and black, he had them thrown at him

never carry your passport or wallet into brothels if you plan on doing it, they genrally try to get you to score coke so they can get cained with you and you stay with them longer, if you cant pay they get there 5 albanaian big guys to boot you about

Cheers man that really helped. We have booked 11th-16th June, in some ways its a shame its with the missus but i think it also could be really good.

I would like to know really good things to do really, she has told me that she likes the idea of looking at red light district and live sex shows, also to smoke LOADS of weed .

We also read about this shops you can buy shrooms from, i didnt realise these were legal over there?? She isnt into coke so that wont be a problem.

theres etequette when smoking in adam and doing drugs, you dont just walk about smoking a spliff in the streets, keep it within a coffie shop or a the tables outside the coffie shop, i believe its still illeagal but tolerated over there

theres usually restrictions to how much u can buy, some places are slightly laxed on this.

my wife was a timid shy kidna girl when we first went over but she has had her eyes wide open after visiting lol a bit of a culture

also do not take a camera into the red light district, never take photos of the working girls, unless u pay there minders and them for it, they will take your camera and beat you with it

its not tollerated over there

Lol, my friends booked me tickets to Amsterdam for my 18th, and oh god it was the best week of my life! Theres a wee place called Lost In Amsterdam which personally I think is the best bar there is.

Go to Barneys for breakfast!

Can't really think (or remember ) much else, though you WILL have a brilliant time!

Yeah we went into them and had a look about didn't get any though so couldn't tell you what they were like. I've heard the schrooms are pretty lethal though!

Another thing I just remembered, although I'm not 100% sure if it's true, but I've heard that when you're out at clubs etc if you have anything like pills or acid you can (in some clubs) take them to part of it where they will actually test them for u (don't know how...) and check whats in the drugs for you free of charge which is pretty nifty!

It's a great place as it is, the girls are a bonus,

Just manged to escape the minders grab before being chucked in the old Poop shoot canal.

I found that the homeless people are far worse then what the dealers are.

Try not to over-do the smoking at first, one of my mates managed to whitey within three hours of landing last time .

I'd second the Heineken museum, it's a little walk but you can tour the coffee shops going to/from there.

If I was going now in the summer I'd definitely rent out bicycles too.

My dads dutch and i have been there every year and lived there when i was young. Not been for 3 years now i miss the place. When we go we stay in a 5 star rented house and its excellant its centre and it costs the same as a hotel! Your better of self catering i think.

Most hotels in holland 2 star up are pretty good actually, just stay away from the hostals

Last time i was there my dad and i took a walk down the red light district and i found it very interesting (i was offered a job not sure if that was flattery) buti had to hide all the camaras and walk past some dodgy people on backstreets.

All in all the atmosphere is excellant! I loved it and cryed my way back to this dump.

Yea had great time, did heiniken thing and brought this book about the history that is really interesting.

Was good and smoked so much pot, im cutting down big time now though, smoke to much

My GF wants to save up and make it there again this summer, if i get some grants from uni and so going

Red light district was so cool, such an experience and love the city. Its so green and love how everyone cycles, though there moped safety equipment is questionable (no helmet, short and T-shirt)

Glad you had i good time, i have relatives in amsterdam so i can go whenever they're available.

Only been once, but i went with my parents so; no pot smoking, no live sex show. Although we did have a wander down the quiet part of the red light district just to see some cheap whores stood in the window!

I'm hoping my other half will come with me for a week or so next year
