Right basically i live at home with my Mum and bf, im 21 year old currently have a part time job. Will be taking a full time posistion in a month or two's time. I pay rent of £270 a month or 70 a week, i do my bits round the house, now today my mum's bf took it upon himself to start grating at my Mum to the point of tears saying i dont do anything round the house, yet he does the odd bits and baps and me and my mum do the rest.

Yet im getting the flak off my mum, im questioned about how or what i spend my money on, like if i buy a new game, im asked " Do you really need that by him" im questioned because im trying to get a loan for a new bike and gear etc.

Now what im asking is, do i stick with living there and ignore him or move out try get a council flat or fuck off in the Army?

Tell him to shut the fuck up.
And also tell him if he makes your mum cry again, you'll spank him.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, thats not my usual sort of good advice, is it.

I doubt you would get a council flat.
You could try going out flatsharing.
Its part of life's great experiences at your age.

Then your mum will miss you, and she will look forward to seeing you, rather than dreading having her tosser of a boyfriend having another dig at you.

I was wondering there myself Shocked

Think he is trying to push you out so he can have your mum all to himself. Your 21 time to get a place of your own anyway.

Is gazzabo trying to be funny?

I'd either slap him and tell him to leave off, or if that's not an option, find some shared house etc..

I believe so.

People called gazza are often peculiar.

But they mean well.
They're often ginger.

I must stop reading "Saki".

To be honest, if you were my 21 year old kid, I'd want you out as well. You're perfectly able to stand on your own 2 feet. Personally I wouldn't want to live at home if I was just working instead of being at uni as well.

Also, you're paying a decent rent, living out of home wouldn't be that much more expensive.

I wouldn't advise ever joining the armed forces as a way to escape something.

Fook me, you pay a lot of rent to your mum! I thought I paid a lot at £150 a month Shocked

Does your mum's bf work? If not tell him to take a running jump.

I moved out at 20, and although it was desperately tight money-wise it was the best damn thing I ever did. I looked forward to seeing my 'rents and they looked forward to seeing me too.

If the army is something you really want to do, then go for it. If it's just a way to get out of the house, then I'd seriously re-consider that option because you may end up hating the Army as much as you hate living at home.

Flat share is a definate option, there's a website dedicated to finding room/flat/house shares for people all over the UK (https://www.flatshare.com/) and for the amount of money you're paying to your mum, you could quite easily get something for that.

All the best,

L Smile

yea, for that rent you could move out. I did when i was 17 for uni and have moved back for summer and seriously thinking of leaving home early back to uni house as its just so much more stressful at home.

I think he wants you out of there, so finds reasons to dig at you. Though in his defense, when i save for bikes i dont buy much ease but each to their own Thumbs Up

Army has been something ive wanted to do since i was 17, got past the selection centre requirements twice. But due to unforseen circumstances havent started the training. Sad

At the end of the day i pay my rent to my Mum as its her house, do stuff when asked, but the way i see it, and the way my Mum see's it also, i go out when i want, spend my money on what i want, just aslong as i help out now and again and pay rent she's happy and im fine with that.

why not go for the royal marines? thats what i went for at 16 but i failed because they found out i had metalwork in my leg Sad

the training is harder, but so much more worth it than the army as they only let the best in, therefore keeping the scum out.

Move out. I rent a huge three-bedroomed flat for £80 a week (although rent may be more expensive wherever you are, obviously).

Living on your own is daunting at first but once you learn to prioritise it's great Thumbs Up
