There was 3500 user's considered active in 11/06 now there is 11300
considered active. The traffic is well more and there is no known new
MOD's .I think they are over worked and it should be sorted.
Just my opinion. Thumbs Up

Paddy.

Shut up, why don't you explain what problems you're having with it first, before spitting your dummy out and acting like a spoilt brat.

Go on Jamie, give me some bad karma...as i'm sure you will.

If you did your BCF research and tried to find out why this was the case(running slow) you would know why, Go on, do a BCF search, and please don't flame me for helping you.

There is still the same (I think 5) MOD's there was when I joined, I think we'll get more members yet, but it's scary to think who could potentially be nominated if that were the case, going on recent behavior. A MOD has to be somewhat level headed and impartial, also un-biased toward fellow MOD and member alike, so it's not a case of 'picking' another MOD, korn etc have to be sure they don't have the temperament to abuse these 'powers' they have.

It would be helpful, but I think the current MOds would request action with Korn f they felt the need for a new addition. My 2P. Thumbs Up

They have put new MODs in the regional sections. For example, not that long ago Wave2k was MOD for SE section, which takes the workload of the main MODs

And Jamie, have you ever run a server for a free internet forum with only a little money from advertisements??? Thought not. Thumbs Down

And on which silly boys insist on posting links to pictures direct into forum posts, so that it uses up even more bandwidth than it need to.

You're confusing "impartial" with "inept"...

What makes you say they are overworked? Have they said so? The board appears to be relatively controlled compared to most despite it being very rare to see any interference or adjusts made by them.

What do you actually believe the mods do that by introducing another will have any affect on the traffic?

Active users is very subjective, purely a guess but there's probably less than a thousand users who post on a regular basis, probably nearer to 100's in fact. 3800 users have either posted once or not at all and a fair number of those are over a year old. It would be interesting to know how many of those active users haven't posted for 6 months, it would be a more realistic number.

Good point, also, the 'regulars' know how not to post, thus needing less 'interference' Thumbs Up

I seem to remember him posting in the Racing and Trackday section just the other day.

Remember, just becuse someone does not post often doesn't mean they don't read the site.

Paddy, I don't take it to heart, I have a real life to get on with most of the time without worrying about the running of a web based forum that has nothing to do with me. It was just that in your first post you said that you 'think' they were overworked, I prefer facts so tried to work out what you had based your statement on.

if you told them to stop PMing you with their problems then they would have more time Wink

Its still a serious question since I have no idea, what do the mods do?

Maybe things like:

Arrow Tidy posts up
Arrow Tidy threads up
Arrow put threads in their correct section
Arrow sort out typo's IIRC
Arrow Inform Korn of members that should be banned
Arrow maintain this haven that is BCF for us non-paying lounging members Wink Thumbs Up I'm wouldn't like to say I could fit the time in a day to do that, but kudos to them if they can Thumbs Up

Aye, I am still lounging about on the forum from time to time, but rarely post nowadays (it all gets said without me) and I only get chance to read on a weekly basis nearly.

If we did get a new mod. Im not saying we need one as everything seems to be running nicely. Then i suggest that we put forward a relatively unknown ( step forward me ) hehe. But in all honesty, there isn't that many people that post regular like.

Fenton. Karma Thumbs Up

Regional Mods approve or deny access to the regional forums, can edit or sticky posts, split or lock threads and move threads out of their section (I think, I've not tried that one yet).

For some reason we can also see posters' IP addresses.

We can only do that in our own regions though, we have no mod powers for the rest of the board and no access to the mods forum.

The IP address is so you can see if one person is posting as two and giving them self karma or just messing with the system.
Some will do it. Shocked
