ok, so since my bike was stolen, i'm in the market for a new one Whistle

thought i'd go for something a bit more relaxed this time around. the bike will need to be restricted. so looking for something like a hornet, SV650, bros style of bike.
so what are those other little niche groups of bikes that go dirt cheap on ebay and still look quite good, and are good for the odd sunday jaunt?
cheers

I would suggest something like a Honda CB-1, can be ridden as hard or as soft as you want, handles quite nicely. Quite easy to get a good example for £500 odd.

The CB1 would be same engine as the CBR400 aswell so you would be used to it.

I wouldnt recommend a SV after the CBR, unless you spend money sorting the really soft suspension Thumbs Up

Another vote for the CB1.

Or fancy something a bit different? Hows about an MZ Skorpion. 660cc single, available faired, half faired and unfaired or with luggage.

Or a Kawasaki W650 retro cruiser (looks more like a Triumph bonneville than a triumph Bonneville does).

Both out of production now but there are good and remarkably cheap second hand ones out there.

cheers for the info, have looked at the CB1's and bros 400's as that's the sorta bike that's cheap to buy and insure.
still undecided though, got about a month until i make proper decisions considering bodily circumstances Wink
some of the older SV's i'v looked at have had the suspension issue sorted and don't go badly priced; £1500-£1700 with around 14-20,000 miles on. decent history & all that.

Around here the hot ticket bikes are the Kawasaki Ninja 500, Suzuki SV650, and Honda Shadow 500. Out of those the most laid back is obviously the Honda Shadow.

I'd recomend a CB1. Brilliant bike, especially cheap examples with sticky tyres and modded suspension.

Zephyr?

400/550 for cheap & cheerfil commuting and tootling about, 750 for something with a bit more grunt, 1100 if you are brave enough...... Wink

(Plus a good excuse for a gratuitous pic of mine, Embarassed taken a couple of weeks ago in the carpark of a VJMC classic bike show in Cheshire)
