A mate of mine is after a 125 to commute to work on.
Is there any great difference between these two little bikes ?

YBR 125 is best! Looks way cooler than CG.

Wanna buy mine? Smile

Long answer short.... No

Look for 2nd hand as buying new is a waste of money. Both bikes hold their resale value well due to 125 demand so if it is cared for it can be sold without loss.

Choice between bikes is mostly comfort and cosmetic as spec wise there is little to nothing in it. With the YBR look for upgraded tyres as factory fitted ones are pretty pants. With the CG aim for a more recent model that has the front disc brake.

Thankyou good night

Tim

I think the main difference would be that the CG has a carb, whereas the YBR is fuel injected. Personally, that would make me lean towards the CG, for user serviceability.

CG FTW!

YBR's just a cheap CG knock off... Twisted Evil

Seriously
CG's are cheap to run, buy, insure and get parts for. That's the benefit of a 30+ year production run with continual development.

Seconded, especially when there seems very little point to having fuel injection on a basic commuter 125.

In the current Used Bike Guide, YBR gets 4/5 overall, CG gets 2/5 overall. YBR beats the CG in every category except build quality for which they both get 3/5. I quote: "rides better than the CG"

I vote for the YBR i do 40miles a day and it hasnt put a foot wrong. New tyres on it and its a very good bike. Ok top speed isnt amaising but its reliable and fuel efficent 200miles on a tank aprox for me.

Mines new with free insurance, 2 year warrenty and 1 year RAC cover could i ask for any more Razz. If kept well oiled and maintained it will reward you back Very Happy

Well, he eventually went for a GS125, as it was the same price as the YBR and came with 12 months MOT and didnt need any work doing to it.
I rode home with him and it happily plodded along at 60 down the bypass, and didnt look too pathetic, due to a little cowl over the headlight.
At least he is back on 2 wheels again. Thumbs Up
